@HiFiRobot
It's a very tight fit, needs to be done gently and carefully.

1. Unscrew the four screws that keep the board in place inside the enclosure (screws close to the corners).
2. You can gently push the board to the side of the RCAs, to get 1-2 mm of gap on the button's side.
3. Use something like a toothpick to press the buttons and make them go stuck up behind the enclosure, just a little bit so they wont hang inside the holes.
4. Gently start rising the button's side of the board.

When you put the board back in, RCA side goes first.

Does anyone use the Hugo with the Sony MDR-Z1R?
It seems 99% of the MDR-Z1R owners have the Sony TA-ZH1ES so I don't have much success asking for alternatives on that thread. The TA-ZH1ES is very expensive and it is rare to find secondhand gear in my country although a mint condition Hugo just became available to me (can't test though).
I was originally thinking desktop but the reviews have me considering this.

A quick search of this thread using the term ' MDR-Z1R ' finds no posts.
However there are several posts in the Hugo2 thread, so may be worth reading them.

I have used my Z1R phones exclusively with a Hugo 1 since I got them.
Absolutely excellent pairing and the Hugo has plenty of power to drive them (which my Euro-capped Sony Z2 didn’t)
I have just moved to an Ibasso DX220MAX, mainly for the convenience of a one box DAP solution. I think the MAX has the edge, but there’s not much in it.

I made an attempt a few months ago to just have a simple dap set up with a WM1A but somehow ended up with the Z1R which I feel deserve a level up to get the best out of them as Sony daps are adequate for volume but quite low powered.

I read it, read a lot. Everyone knows that the Hugo has 18650 shielded batteries. So replacing something with 3000+ and connectors for quick replacement will not be a problem. But so far, and their own normally work, postponed for "later".

Further on stationary power supply and recharging, the developer wrote that the main thing for charging is 12v, the current strength is not so important. As a result, such options appeared.

- there are cables with USB / TYPE-C and 5.5x2.5 with a built-in 12V trigger.
- there are boards (as in the photo) with a trigger for the same 12V. You can make an adapter and use the existing cables and power supplies from the same phones / tablets, well, and power banks that can give 12v.
I'm going to make short adapters out of the boards.
something like this happened. I didn't center it on purpose, it's easier to solder. I am lazy.
