Chord Hugo

My stock TosLink cable bundled with Hugo do not work with anything above 24/96 too. You will need to get an optical cable capable of passing 24/192. I remember one guy found a cheap optical cable that can pass 24/192 a few pages back.
That's simply isn't true all the chord cables work fine the problem is in the square to round adapters that some people were using to play with A and K units. Chord now supply both square to square and square to round cables. These all work well up to 192 k

So I take it with JRMC one will be able to stream 24/192 files as well as DSD (via DoP) without any problem?

No idea. I only played 16/44 files.

Has anyone compared the CLAS -dB to the Hugo? Is the difference in SQ worth the upgrade?

We should have a couple of ways to stream DSD via Wi-Fi networks. 1st one is more universally supported on multiple platforms and they actually added support for transcoding DSD files (*.DSF / *.DSF) to DoP format automatically since MinimServer version 0.70

Freely available for almost all computers as well as popular NAS devices

2nd one is Windows 8/7/Vista/XP only and Media Go version 2.7 is also available from Sony for free

http://mediago.sony.com/enu/features/file-formats

Both DSD64 and DSD128 are supported in addition to pretty much all lossless audio formats except for *.APE and *.ISO etc.

Finally we just have to figure out what UPnP / DLNA clients to run on our iOS 7.X / Android 4.X devices.

Both Sony ZX1 / F880 series should have this particular one by default

And there really are tons and tons of choices out there, we just have to figure out which one works best with DoP output for Hugo while NOT converting to PCM on-the-fly

Still not sure how it works on travel, let's make it simple. Suppose I have a wifi harddisk, such as the seagate Wireless Plus 1T wifi Hard disk, then what do I need to do (such as what software is needed to install on this wifi harddisk) so that I can stream the 192khz flac from the harddisk to the iphone, then to the Hugo while traveling outside?

Not but I certainly do not doubt chord production capabilities
From what I had noticed the demand and supply are catching up, all the Australian sellers are already on their second batch with their updated casing, not bad.

Here ya

 ,
But I'm sure Chord stocked up on necessary components well before release.  All it takes is one important component to lapse and fall behind.  Apple is a great case in point.  Chord is a smitten smaller than Apple, so I'm sure their production abilities are a bit smaller.  (Being facetious

Now I'm not saying you should rush out and buy the Hugo before careful considerations, but if your going to eventually buy it regardless, better to do it now while it's available.  Just my 2 cents.  Otherwise roll the dice, price increase, sold out hard to find.  It's possible!

Apple wishes they made something as truly awesome as the Hugo.

I am so pleased and impressed with Chord (and my dealer and NA Chord distributor). I had the early production model and USB input popped off. Got a new unit lickety split and loving it. With this new unit the cross feed seems to be working differently too (better). All is well in Hugo-ville.

I think Hifi Nutter is just being consistent with his name!

Dude don't even worry about it. Indeed we have all been there. Just don't make it a regular occurrence
