Will definitely give it a go if the cheaper don't work out! Wish it was still a bit shorter, how you getting on with the length?

Post a pic?

Phil at Custom Cable said they're made to order. I did think about asking for a shorter one, but decided to stick to the 25cm one (don't know if they'll do that, though). Here's a quick pic (of rather poor quality but it's easy with the iPad!) of current set-up. I keep changing it though, whenever I get a better idea!
Incidentally, I'm becoming more and more convinced that the Vertere is making a big sonic difference.

Velcro's keeping the Touch and Hugo together....

Seems like the last unit in Australia was sold by headphonic, I dont really want to order from overseas as I need to get this unit before the easter break. Perhaps it is a good thing that I cannot find it locally, but than again I know it will eventually have to get this down the track.

So there's an exchange program in Japan to swap new chassis with old one for free

And I just got in touch with Flyer Audio regarding really short CCK-enabled Lightning cables for Hugo

I was told that's doable so let's see if the details could be worked out regarding the authentication chip etc.

Any more word about chassis swaps for people in rest of world?

Marriage will, making the best of it while I can. To my defence I did stop the temption for a period of two months but than again each time i listen to my music the thought of "What if I had HUGO here" just ruined the music. Hopefully I can get my peace back again.

On other hand shout out for apollo hifi, great customer service, they literally checked all the cables they had in the store one by one for me over a simple phone call (they called me) to conform which cable will suit HUGO.

Now I finally can used the 20 SACD rip I made with my gold old PS3 in use. (RIP it died last year, I should have not used it for gaming and used it as a ripping unit).

I should add, the old wise men of Head-Fi yore used to advise to the young guys to do: "girls now, headphones later."

But I tell you what, if you're serious about your audio, it seems the time you have available for headphones "later" is severely truncated

Maybe the best strategy is to figure it all out now. And then relax in your old married-man recliner with your end-game system!

hi everyone, I am doing a DIY USB cable from CCK to Chord Hugo, since Hugo doesn't draw power from the source, do I still need to wire the power leads from CCK? can I just get by with the 2 signal leads only?

You will need the 2 signal leads and ground (to identify the Hugo), the +5V lead is not required, so only 3 leads

I don't think it's wise to try experimentation it could end in tears as some on the go cables for use with android units are internally linked to tell the source product how it's operating. Also although Hugo does not take power over USB it does take note that the power is there and this signalling determines if some input USB circuitry is switched on and is ready for use
