This would be a Hugo version 2, which I will welcome by making a dent in my wallet.

I'm waiting for this one also.

Awe heck Dave 2  it's all speculation but I'm not sure I need 150 watts into 60 ohms. really just looking for alternatives potentially to gsx mk2 or liquid gold.

your looking for quite an unusual amplifier it would need to have about 94 volts RMS output.

Oops, 130 into 4 ohms  I'm holding off pulling the trigger until release from chord. It's a gsx, lau, chord amp off. Any other suggestions guys for hd800S if I consider amping. I'm leaning to no.

/So would you use this just to drive speakers? Is there any reason to get this if you are just driving headphones?

I am hp only, foreseeably , and guess not. Just considering chord synergy with TT. Not sure about amping in general, although i keep reading about folks that swear by it. Realize some tradeoffs but is it a dam the torpedo thing with hd800S. Im very happy at present but if there is an extra % of goodness out there?

Money spent on an amplifier for headphones to go with TT is money that could have been spent on replacing TT with DAVE.

Good argument, Jawed!

If I have the choice between increased listening pleasure by added colorations and increased listening pleasure by increased accuracy and transparency, I'm deciding for...

(I'm not going to reveal my choice.)

The key phrase here is could have gone to replacing TT with dave. Aprox 4 times the cost of TT is dave here in canada. No boxing day sales either on dave, that i enjoyed on TT either. Im just jaw boning ideas out there, there are a few TT owners on head fi who have  GSX MK2 or liquid gold and other amps, so just getting a feel for it.
Looks like chord thinks its an option so let the debate commence, or at least after Berlin. Meanwhile TT is doing just fine on its own.

To me that looks like a misunderstanding. John was hinting at the upcoming Chord desktop speaker amp «TToby». Probably he wasn't aware that it wouldn't serve you as a headphones-only listener.
