Chord Electronics - Hugo 2 - The Official Thread

Just did a scan on LCD-4z and H2 in the search function..some were saying - 'needs more power/headroom'..others 'stunning with H2'.
Anyone with a good bit of time with 4z on h2 and other gear thinking it won't be enough to "release the beast" ?

What revision of Solaris are you talking about?
I had Solaris and sold them as they has hiss(ed) even at a very low volume of Hugo 2...

Hello there.
Does anyone have any Chord Mojo/IEM best matching recommendations?
Thanx
Here's a link to the aforementioned thread. It would be helpful to provide some more details to get quick guidance, such as price range, types of music you listen, headphone and/or speakers you like, etc.

Good Luck!!

Got the Hugo2 streaming Tidal HiFi, bit perfect via UAPP to my Focal Stellia (Neotech usb cablel).
Really like the sound quality.
The only issue through, I cannot sense or precieve, any contribution or effect of neither the Filters nor the Cross feed buttons.
Is there a method or specific music pieces that will enable me to witness the effects of tunning the Filters and Cross feed buttons?

Thanks

Got an answer from Chord... Thanks

Dear Sir, thanks for your email.
Crossfeed is simply pushing left channel information into the right and vice versa. Try listening to 'Moukou Moukou' by Amadou and Mariam at it's a very left/right master and that should change as the Crossfeed is adjusted. The filters on our DACs represent different 'correct' methods of handing high frequency roll off. Depending on the rest of the system and what you are listening to, the differences might be sufficiently small as to be unnoticeable. The most likely point of difference in all cases would be with high resolution audio.
All the best

Changing filters using HQPlayer is quite apparent but changing on the H2 I never could hear a difference.

Interesting, for me changing filters on all my previous units never seemed to make a difference, whereas with the Hugo 2 and Hugo TT2 I immediately hear the subtle difference. Go from filter 4 to filter 1 for the most obvious difference. Pick a neutral-leaning headphone like the HD-600 and an appropriate track with some treble to hear the effect of changing filters.

Whereas the crossfeed function - on those tracks that lend themselves to it, the difference is not subtle, it's a "how could I possibly listen without crossfeed MED or MAX. With previous units (RME) I could tell the difference from the crossfeed, but not as clearly as on these two Chord units.
