I'll get mine this week with the flare pro which is Bluetooth but the Chord Hugo 2 ain't aptx hd not sure if the flare pro is either,so I'm gonna use the 1.2 metre wire and sit on the floor with my face pushed up against the Hugo wishing they catered for iem owners that sit at home,I don't believe anything out there is better than using a wire,I would love to have a long lead to my iems so I can sit in my chair and enjoy the music without moving my Chord Hugo 2 from my hi-fi rack

How is your Hugo 2 and your headphones of choice reproducing the bass guitar in this video of Carlos Santana at Montreux in 2011? I'm getting deep, solid bass lines, more so since I switched from the standard Utopia cable to a Moon Audio Black Dragon Premium cable. A very worthwhile improvement, how does a tiny little box like the Hugo 2 manage it? Rob, please don't explain, I won't understand.......

Note that I don't own the «S», so my curve is just an extrapolation from my (modified) classic HD 800. Here's the download link to the Zip file that also contains the Hugo₂/DAVE correction curve and four of my main presets for HD 800 and HE1000.

You are right but some time ago I lost part of an order and customer support promptly made it available again. I think they are very reasonable in that respect, I never had an issue!

I've had a few dealings with Josh at customer support. He's patient and helpful. I still don't like this stupid licencing that even makes Canadian artists unavailable to Canadians, but that's not their fault.

I'm ordering my Chord Hugo 2 this week in black,better late than never!!!I was gonna get the audeze LCD X going through my oppo 205 but thought the Chord Hugo 2 would be the better option,can play it through my hi-fi and listen to headphones as well,can't afford both so was thinking of getting the flare pro in ears,any thoughts of you experts if I'm making the right choice before I sign on the dotted line?Oh don't worry I won't be doing a review...makes me laugh when a new product comes out and they all dying to get there hands on it and when they do it's like they ain't interested,got the Hugo 3 today unpacked it but got to cut the grass,might plug it in tomorrow I'll keep ya posted,review coming soon...

Glad to hear it. I don't know about the in ears you're asking about. But if you ever decide to buy some LCD-Xs, I think you'll like them through Hugo2. I know I do; but that's just me.

Sorry, I should have put the word 'Free' in front of Spotify, I use Free Spotify to check out possible new CD's, SACD's and high res downloads from Qobuz, H D TRacks, 2L or 7Digital. I rip the CD's or SACD's onto my laptop for Hugo 2 listening or to my Questyle QP2R for elsewhere listening ie downstairs, on holiday etc

It sounds more forgiving but also much less transparent with a noticeable (yet sometimes pleasant) warmth to it.

With forgiving headphone/ iems it was fine but with more resolving IEM's it really showed its weakness imo, you could really hear how much distortion bluetooth was causing.

But that's not to say that H2 Bluetooth doesn't sound musical with the right set of transducers

My AKT8ie iems do produce very well defined bass lines, but as iems they are fairly neutral and can seem bass light to some people. The percussion at around 3:40 is very clearly defined.
Overall the band plays the track as a light-hearted jazz classic (the vocalists have smiles on their faces).
So very different to the original incarnation as a blues track:

Peter Greens vocals do help to bring out the moody darkness in the song.

why not use tidal or roon for lossless versions of your music? an immediate improvement over spotify.

Even better, have your own collection on HDD and stream from it. You will never get better SQ from an online streaming source than your own private library.

Lol typing error sorry.I use the oppo 205 for films mainly and for cds that I have that I can't get on tidal but most of my listening to music is done through my Naim Nd5 xs going through my Chord 2 qute so I thought swap the 2 cute for the Hugo 2 then I can listen to headphones too,I sold my trilogy 933 and focal utopia headphones

I loved the LCD X when I listened to them through my Hugo at hi-fi lounge really good,I can't afford both the Hugo 2 and the LCD X so that's what I'm not sure of,just don't think the oppo 205 headphone socket will do the LCD X justice
