Is the RCA output capped with a max. resolution if the Hugo 2 is used with Mscaled source into a tube AMP or can the full stream be sent to the amp if the Hugo 2 is used as a DAC only?

Hugo2/2go/Monoprice thx

Really nice. For my Hd800s it has made a huge difference.

The Hd800s would have bass distortion around the blue colored volume on the volume ball. With the THX I can go to the same loudness without bass distortion.

Same with my Spirit Torino Twin Pulse.

The Hd800s specifically sound less distant for some reason. They have a more intimate voice presentation and its not subtle. Maybe cause males voices can be tied to the bass?

Nasty hole there. Fix that up and I guarantee sonic improvement.

It just kicked in to me today that the output on the Hugo 2 is a digital volume control.

So if you set it to 100% (line out mode), no data bits are lost. That explains this.

Oh my god the Cable Chrysanthemums. All I can see now. XD

Yes.
It helps explain why owners suggest setting the source volume to 100% to ensure bit perfect source data, because you can then use the more accurate Hugo 2 digital volume control to adjust the final analogue output.

What is a musical amp that helps the Hugo 2 sound more musical? The details and resolution are out of this world but I would love to add some musicality and a slight more Midbass. Any suggestions?
Define musicality? Midbass can be tweaked digitally at source with EQ to your requirement. The colouring of the sound will be more heavily influenced by your speakers and room or headphones, so EQing to suit them is probably the best option rather than adding distortion with an amp.

line out is 100% volume on the hugo2 so be very careful when you reconnect headphones i.e. turn it right down.
