I’m no expert but once opened, 40% reduction is pretty standard for any audio product so no, these are not capital investments and one should choose wisely and avoid churn

Agreed, unless something is nearly new then my rule of thumb for pricing is 50% of retail and then adjust up or down from that depending on desirability.

Here in the UK you're looking at 15-20% loss. Pretty impressive. The Mojo is around 25%.

In general, Chord products seem to hold value very well.
that's what i look for as a discount on brand new gear if possible. ie 15%

And redundancy kills value. I've not been able to sell my Hugo1.
Maybe put a chrome cast audio into it and use it as a second system... I’m just listening to chrome cast into a Bose speaker, playing smooth jazz from roon. A cheap and very nice little system. Accessible.

Since the Chord Etude amplifier has been asked about a few times in this thread. (From people I think wanting to pair with Hugo 2.) The Etude has been reviewed by HiFi Plus, in the current issue no. 168, on page 55.

Recent actual achieved prices on eBay UK are more like 20% to 25% loss on H2 depending whether it is a dealer sale or private (still very good) but for the vigilant there are sometimes bargains that go for 40% less than retail.

The only thing that bugs me about hugo, or apple, is that cck will fail and the device won't recognize hugo. I can see why a player or all in one solution appeals to some. Granted love the hugo sound.

I’ve had two cck’s crap out on me, the cable starts pulling out of the plastic ends. The one that I’m using at the moment has tape wrapped around the split of the white rubber, but every now and then I get a, device not supported error, move the cable about and bingo, it’s all back working again.

I have two new spares, but I’m greedy, I wan’t as much life as I can get out of the thing before chucking it out. I’m sure apple designed them to fail pretty quickly.

Gutted. My Hugo 2 was due for delivery today but has been delayed in transit. I was planning on spending the weekend with it and my Focal Clears...

Somebody make me feel better.
We have the best weather of the week today!
Clear blue skies, no rain, and little wind.
Soon be the weekend.
It is making me feel much better already.
