I picked up a Mojo 2 for use while I’m away from home… holiday cottages etc, where I plug in my Roon NUC. Also for those times sitting in the garden.

There seems to be a bit of a mixed reaction with the Poly but are there any obvious glitches to watch out for using it as a Roon Endpoint. I might want to play files from an SD card but I would imagine it’ll mainly be Roon. Just want a compact solution with good sound quality.

Not sure if I’m missing something obvious or not but no matter what I do I can’t get the poly to show up in the GoFigure app. It’s been on charge etc for the last few hours. When I connect it it flashes blue for a bit then the light goes out but at no time does the app find it. Using an iPhone Pro 12 and a iPad Pro 11.

Any ideas? The manual seems to suggest it should just appear 🤔

Try, while plugged into audio, clicking the tiny little reset button with a pin.
The device should speak functions to you.
In that case, it is still basically functioning - you might try resetting the BluTooth or even doing a full Factory reset.

I had a worse scenario than that recently when the device, entirely unresponsive, showed a consistent white led, meaning it was charging... except it wasn't plugged into anything.
It was entirely unresponsive over wifi and blutooth.

Someone at Chord suggested I leave it to run down "this may take up to 12hrs". It actually took almost 24 as it was just one little led using power.
At that point I put it on charge for a short spell and although still unresponsive in any functional way, I was then able to get the audio prompts in order to factory reset.

Why there's no hard reset switch, I don't know. It seems rather conceited to assume it wouldn't be required at some point, and given the ongoing s/w issues, rather foolhardy.

Have you gone into Systems Settings and connected to the Poly via Bluetooth?

Bluetooth is on with all devices used but no sign of “Poly” under devices to connect. Just doesn’t show / exist!

I’ll try that audio thing with the reset pin next. Shows the white light while power is connected but when it’s removed it flashes blue then goes out with no status light on at all. Thanks all for the input👍🏻

Edit. Still dead. No voice commands when using the pin. It’s a small hand warmer at the moment 🙄

@u brain has reminded me that a few years ago some Poly owners did experience their Polys becoming 'bricked', and the solution was to let the Poly drain its battery until it shut down, and could be rebooted. Worth a try, because it can save the hassle of returning the Poly to your dealer.

I can return up to 30 days but my gut is telling me to send it back now. The idea of the Mojo is a compact simple system for occasional use so this first impression of the Poly isn’t doing it for me 😂. The thought of more potential problems later on is screaming bail out while you can… especially if it’s only picked up and used once every few weeks.

Anyway, a TB4 cable to the iPad and job done. I’ll sleep on it and decide in the morning!

The delivery company won't pick the Poly up until the 23rd so I have a few days to try and resurrect it before it's too late. Is there anyway to determine if it is flat or not?

After the initial green "P Status" light it's followed by blue flashing then nothing. The Mojo 2 power button runs through a sequence of colours when it's first connected then either goes off or is a pale bluish white light. Is there any tell tail sign or fool proof way of running it flat. No Sign of Poly at any time under "Other Devices" in the Bluetooth settings of the phone. Cheers

Edit. Been in contact with the retailer and after a few checks... it's a duff one and going back.

Is it just me or is Poly significantly more stable on both WiFi and portable hotspot? I was thinking of getting rid of the duo until I had to use the Mojo 2 as an external dac/amp.

I then charged the Poly and have been using it for a day. Very smooth sailing fr both Airplay and as a Roon endpoint.

In case anyone needs to know:

My Poly overheated and then wouldn’t power on or charge at all. I found a SBAF thread about the “light tube” being a struggle to keep in place when trying to replace the battery. I wanted specs on the battery to find a replacement.

It wasn’t easy but I got it apart and back together. DM me if you’re stuck trying this.

When I put things back together and tested, the battery chip seems to have reset the overheat fault. It’s working fine now. So far, so much cooler. Stay tuned.

Does the Poly ever go on sale? I would like to have one but the price is a barrier compared to my R3 Pro which works just fine. Anyone have one available at a reasonable price?

I've never seen one on sale from a distributor. Chord items in general rarely go on sale from what I've seen.

Seems that way. They did reduce the Mojo 2 price eventually (now $650) but not the Poly...
