As a bit of a nerd (sign on the door says Cloud Operation Specialist - that "Cloud" that everyone and their mother uses for their IT? Well, I keep it running.) I'm super stoked about the Poly using open standards such as MPD instead of locking users into a software ecosystem. Chord won't have to worry about constantly updating and patching a player app and everyone of us nit-picky obsessive audiophiles can find a player interface that suits our needs. Win/win in my book and I'll take this over a small touch screen UI any day. As a first-wave Ibasso DX100 owner I'm somewhat weary of the "Let's use Android and slap a player app on top" approach. Granted, it can be done well - the AK120II and AK240 I had were fine, but compared to desktop software like Roon and nice MPD apps? Puh-lease, not even in the same league, barely even the same sport.

Just put an order for the new Nokia 8. I have a suspicion it will be a very nice controlling device for MojoPoly, when I eventually spring for the Poly.

It would be helpful to have a FAQ for Poly. Then all known Poly apps could be named in one place.

I recall myself asking which app to use and I am sure J Franks replied. I have forgotten it now though.

I think the last app that got mentioned was an iPhone app. However I think I someone said Chord had their own app, or were writing one. Or they recommended one. If I have a Poly I will be using Android, so the iPhone app is no good.

I am however still mid thought about even getting a Poly. An LG G5 SE is still with me and the deadline for return is three days away. Although Amazon mentioned a week over the phone to me. The problem with the G5 SE was whether or not it works on OTG.. All reviews say yes, but LG told me they dropped support for OTG on the G5 SE. That means if I keep and use this phone I will have to buy a Poly.

Another alternative is to find a phone that has all my requirements, but that seems impossible:

A usable camera.
A replaceable battery (That's because I keep my phones for years, and I hate this throw away culture.)
Tough with hopefully IP68 specification; for waterproofing and toughness. (The LG G5 SE doesn't meet this requirement.)
OTG support, so I can choose Poly or not.
HD-audio support.

................However I don't think this phone exists. The nearest I got was Blackview phones, (Excluding the BV6000 series.) However they use a long 3.5mm headphone socket and long USB-c socket. (Sourcing an adapter so I could use my own headphones could be tough. Meaning when not using Mojo.) Secondly the camera is pretty average for 16Mp, and quite low res in video mode. Not specced for HD-audio, I think too.

Why is it hard to find a well specified durable phone?

Hi,

As a new Mojo owner, I just want to thank you all for the interesting discussions going on this forum (I've read through all 131 pages as a guest before joining) . The announcement of the the Poly was an important factor in my decision to buy the Mojo, and I'm looking forward to the reviews and real world experiences of the first owners.

Thank you,
L

$250 though - Ouch! I'll wait for a sale and stick with 256 GB for now.

Considering 256GB microSD hovers around the $200 mark, $250 is quite reasonable for 400 gigaroonies. Will be getting this once my pre-ordered-last-February Poly materializes.

You can find the 256GB on sale now for around $120. I just got one from B&H a few weeks ago at that price.

@Mojo ideas as someone who didn't expect to end up wanting a Poly, what are the odds of actually getting one this year when I didn't preorder back in January/February? How's the production capacity looking?

We are making them now and will be getting them out around the world to our distributors warehouses ready for our product launch on the 19th of October therefore to answer your Question I'd say one hundred percent barring wars and natural disasters.

Samsung EVO cards are so very very much faster than the SanDisks. I have several of both 200/256gb cards and I won't be buying slow ever again
I thought slower would be OK when dealing with music (opposed to using one for a camera/HD video recorder), would you say it's 'slowed you down' with DAPs/phones? I thought scrolling through and playing music would be fine.
