GREAT NEWS

Looks like Jack from Woo Audio will generously offer a demo GES amplifier for our meet! I only have the HE60 and hopefully someone will be able to bring in some Stax headphones as well.

An electrostatic shootout in Chicago. ES-1 (Al Capone) vs. GES (Bugsy Moran)

I'll have the Omega I and Omega II for comparison with the HE-60.

I don't see a pair of RS-1's on the gear list. Will anyone have a pair there? Billy, will you be bringing yours? I'd like to get some listening time with RS-1's on my rig if possible.

Thanks.

I will already have lots of gear but if no one brings one I can bring a pair.

So with all the prizes for the "raffle", should we really call it a raffle?

Billy,
Now that you have a nice pile of give away stuff, I think it would be a good idea to figure out how much the raffle tickets will cost so people know ahead of time. I want to make sure to bring enough cash

.
Had anymore thoughts about this?

Yeah I have..my thought was WE all decide..haha
seriously the least your going to get back is probably $30 worth in a gift. As far as how many Gifts here is an idea..
1 tomahawk or hornet (not sure)
1 ttvj millet amp
not sure what shure is throwing in but they said they would,
10 ipod dock thingys from CrossRoads
10 Mylar one earphones from Crossroads
jbloud is sending some cables, not sure how many.
6 headphone stands from crossroads
4 headphone stands From Woo audio
cardas mini to mini from todd R
ipod skin from Todd R
1 HeadRoom Micro dac

so far 35 raffle prizes but I would not be surprised we end up with 10 more on top of this. i think i am forgetting a few raffle prizes now..

about 26 headfi members are coming, give or take a few that don't show.

if you want to purchase more then one ticket or if other people coming with the members want to then that add's to the pot..which is good.

I don't know what do you guys think? People on the phone have said $50 a ticket..but I am involved in the planning and hosting so I can not really say this or that. its up to you guys. the more money WE bring in the better the next Chiunifi will be next year, of course we could use some of the money for the headfi community also..again that's up to you guys.

$50 sounds fine to me.

Could someone bring a good pair of XLR balanced interconnects?

Headroom has (finally) decided to send a Balanced Desktop for us to play with, but I don't have any balanced cables at the moment.

This will be the model with the internal DAC also.
I'm wondering how it will compare to the balanced output of my Marantz?
(Yeah, I might bring the SA-11S1 now)

I'm totally pumped for this meet. It'll be my first! Yay! Am I going to be the youngest one there? Ah well, doesn't matter. It'll be sweet learning from more experienced head-fiers and audio enthusiasts anyway. Dang, guess I need to save some mulah for those raffle tickets.

I doubt you will be the youngest one there - I am bringing my kids
