Hi, I've been following these Chinese HP threads for a while and just now joined head fi. I would like to answer the question of where you can find replacement cords for the marantz and clones. I bought a couple from Amazon. They are labeled as replacements for the lyxpro HAS-30. I have two Marantz mph-2s and 2 Freeboss MDH-9000s. They are both exactly the same sound wise, and I really enjoy listening on them.

The only issue I have found with them is that the locking cable end is made of a softer plastic, and the locking channels can get marred if you aren't careful when inserting/removing. Because of this, the Freeboss is a better deal because it comes with two cables, though one is coiled. Like I said, Amazon has these cables. They are $10, which is steep but considering the quality of the headphones, I found it acceptable.

Any idea about these? Salar C13

They are only 18$ and look quite tolerable: https://www.aliexpress.com/item/New-Salar-C13-Professional-Studio-Monitor-Headphone-Hifi-Super-Bass-Noise-Isolating-DJ-Headset-free-shipping/32765643740.html?scm=1007.12873.48297.0&pvid=eb46ed7f-175b-4fca-a360-6bf6139370b5&tpp=1

I have used this mini extension cable and it will fit inside MDH-9000 without the locking mechanism so that you could use any 3.5 mm third party cables...

i dont think this is the correct cable as i can see 3 stripes instead of 2. the third one includes the mic.

does it make any difference?

It will work, the third line is for Mic and if you don't have Mic, it will not affect the sound. This is the cheapest option to use with your own cable, otherwise using 3.5 mm v-moda cable will by pass the locking mechanism also but higher price.

Clearhead (I think it was clearhead) was telling me that the premium version of the hp-980, the hd-9999 is much better, and while the 980's are decent, they're nothing special.

I think he suggested to me that it'd be better to just save up and splurge on the hd 9999

I just ordered the HP-580 instead, to see if they could beat my old Superlux HD681 EVO :D

The cable for M50X will not work since one side is 2.5mm, but MDH9000 has both sides are 3.5mm and the side that goes into the earcup has to be very slim, so none of your choices here will work...

Well, I really like both headphones, but they do sound somewhat different. The Yenona's are somewhat more "U-shaped" -- midrange doesn't sound extremely recessed to me, but the bass & treble are somwhat elevated. This sound pleased me greatly when I first heard it.

you ask and you get. So indeed there is a U shape. but its not too bad. and definitely not bright/sibilant at all.

up to 1Khz YENONA are better than the maratz.

maratz wins on the treble side. Overall seems bassier than the maratz

According to this graph and your input about elevated treble seems that your unit might be defective

For monitoring purposes the maratz is better

Yenona sounds like more towards dynamic driver IEMs

I think i will buy the yenona. for $39 the price is good. $55 the mdh9000 also ok. price wise are placed nicely
I don't think anyone would be disappointed with either of these

Something like this......just in reference to the 3.5mm jack size, its upto you to choose from length, budget, a straight or coiled cable etc.
