Chinese / Asian Brand Info Thread (On or Over Ear Headphones)

So I got my bosshifi b8 un-crosswired. Sounding about the same so far. Man that was a pain in the butt though. I recommend just buying the one off Amazon then in the future. You pay a bit more, but you get a case with some extras for that. Not to mention easier returns. Worth it in this case.

So if they were wired out of phase, they should sound very different now. Or were they wired in-phase but just had the R and L channels swapped?

Here is the graph from my pair of B8, which I have sent back to China in order to fix because of the aforementioned drivers mismatching:

But yeah, it didn't sound too bad for the price. Maybe I should try to change the pad too, after it comes back.

You have to had it send back and forth to China?
That's going te be an expensive one.

Still dont get it why they send so cheap. And if you have to send it to China. Most of the time it costs more than the product.

Well, I live in Vietnam and the cost to send em back is..well, 15 bucks. Not bad for express shipping, actually. They got mine in 5 days, and they are currently repairing or do whatever they need with it now, so...yeah. Back to the waiting board.

Yes that's not bad indeed... Here in the Netherlands it cost 50 bucks on average. Small parcel. So Yes it depends on where you are off course.

I have the one from Amazon UK... listed as KInden. No problems with mine. I got a good price I think...£69. They sound beautiful and the case is a nice bonus.

I have them listed in my profile as Bosshifi B8/Kinden WE-BK8

Unbelievable $18 Amazon deal on some 50mm Akai studios (link below). Wonder if these are Lyxpro/Marantz rebrand?

https://www.amazon.com/Akai-Professional-Project-50X-Headphones/dp/B01GDB79T4/

Already said they were earlier. The problem being that the stock pad on the Akai sucks worse. Which is why this overall is a better deal

http://www.ebay.com/itm/LyxPro-HAS-...321043&hash=item1ec3cd440f:g:apsAAOSwjk9ZR5wE

Same unit, with better earpads, and a case. To do that with the Akai would cost $18 + $20 for HM5 + $12 case = $50. You get all that in a single go for $46 from ebay.

They were in phase before and sounded, just the channels were wrong. Had to get them all set back up and in phase with the channels the right direction. Everything is good now except the headband version I got being extra large.

There are a few rebadge sellers of those on Amazon. Basically they are $80 off Amazon US, but as you said there are extra goodies to involved. People can take a chance with $50 order from aliexpress and get the HP only after waiting a long time, or $80 to get them quick with a case, 1/4 adapter, and 1+2 adapter

Amazon US link for Kinden B8 version.

Side note, Brookstone seems to be clearancing out their portable DAC/Amp combo called Big Blue for $25.

https://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=9SIA8N154R1266

No one seems to know how good or bad this is, but for $25 as a portable Dac/Amp with 10 hours battery life I figure it was worth a shot.

Ah ok. I follow this thread but missed that. Thanks for pointing it out. You could still save money if you didn't need a case and had extra pads on hand. Either way is great value IMHO.

@slaterlovesspam Earpads have arrived. Haven't installed pads that many times, just on Fostex T50RP, Tate & Bauer, and the original uncomfortable pads I put on my Momentum, and these were a pain in the butt to put on. Small pads too, kind of in between the size on my Momentum On Ears & the bad pads I was using. These will by no question turn them into on ears. They have a nice feel, and certainly feel like quality. As I never had stock pads for comparison, I can't comment on comfort increase/decrease, but these feel like if I find the right spot it'll be decent. And they're a load more comfortable than the bad pads.

Also to keep it more on topic, I really should treat myself to Bosshifi B8. Been working a ton and a treating myself would be nice.

Update on this pad. There is no way in heck these pads will fit the Momentum 1 without tearing them to pieces. I even gently heated mine with a hairdryer.

The pads we both bought are obviously for the Momentum ON-EARS, despite the seller's description saying they are for the OVER-EARS.

It's too bad, because they are nice leather pads. I'll just keep them and find something to use them on.

Unfortunately, I still haven't located a quality replacement for the stock pads yet (at least made of leather). Unfortunately, it seems to be challenging because there's the (original) Momentum over-ear, the over-ear 2.0, and the on-ear. Sellers seem to be unable to keep it straight.

I'll likely have to just search by the pad size (instead of by make/model) and see what's available.

There's a used pair on Amazon for $0.05 with free shipping (that's 5 PENNIES). That seems like a pretty good deal to me. Add the HM5 pads, and you're in like flynn for $12.05

Update: I just bought them. We'll see how good they turn out to be for $0.05
