I can probably make it either date, but the 9th (or later) would be better. I don't have the will (or heuvos) to bring the big electrostatic rig up but I can bring my balanced and desktop rig:

Balanced
 • Headamp GSX
 • Cambridge Azur 840c
 • K701 ALO Balanced
 • K340 Headphile balanced
 • DT880 (600 Ohm) Headphile Balanced

Desktop/transportable/quasi-portable
 • Headroom 2007 Destop Portable
 • Stax SRM-252-II
 • Asus tablet (optical out; J River Mediacenter; 7000+ FLAC files)
 • Cowon Q5W
 • Senn HD-25-1-II w 650 cable
 • Denon D2000 - Most Likely will not be there as it is currently being recabled
 • Equation Audio RP-21 w Beyer leather pads
 • Stax 003

I can also bring a MS-Pro if you want one for your old vs. new RS-1 shootout. Let me know.

Has anyone called MusicDirect to see if they may be interested in vendor participation?

I didn't want to say anything yet, as it is not for certain, but Amy on head-fi from Klipsch- is going to ask around and see if kilpsch can make it with their new line of Hp's.

I'll check into Shure and ETY and Music Direct as well.
Edit: emailed Shure, music direct and ETY

And as of now, It looks like I might be pushing the 16th date.

the 16th would actually work better for me than either the 2nd or the 9th. I wouldn't mind paying a $5 fee either.

Also, let me know if there's anything I can do to help out aside from money. I'm really looking forward to it if it happens. =)

I booked the 16th, so it is semi-official now.

Date: February 16th
Time: ?
Place: 40 E. 9th st, Chicago, IL, 60605

If you plan on attending, then you need to contact me via email- mike.nonnie@gmail.com

I will give you my paypal address for which you can forward me the $5 and the building also needs a list of names of who is coming.

You do NOT need to do that now, but it must be done by Feb. 10th.

Any questions, please feel free to ask.

If you need power strips i have some cheapo's left from ChiUniFI and i could probably get more.

i have the "hello my name is" badges left..

and even the raffle tickets if you are thinking of such.

I would not worry about $100 room fee, I am more then sure that will not be even close to problem.

what are you thinking for food? we all give $5.00 in or something?
if its ok i will pick up a few jugs of Starbucks coffee before i head over to the meet...got to have coffee!

I had planned on supplying us all with soft drinks and some snacks. And I thought some of the members would want to pitch in for some pizza or something. I am a student on a budget, so starbucks is out of the question if I must pay.

Power strips may be handy- I can get my hands on one or two.
And I hadn't thought about a raffle..

Would you like to be the co-host? You have so many ideas!

Also, our room has a kitchen and they will supply me with as many tables as I want. I think it even looks out to the lake (+1)

I can bring a SP Extreme, Corda Aria, Porta Corda, Dared MP5, Grado RS-1, HD600, K-701.

I won't be able to make it before 5-6pm. Are there going to be enough tables?
