Re-connecting with an old friend, picking up where we left off

Still using my old M8 as my desktop DAC/amp. Replaced the battery last year.
The 1000mW adds heft to the music on my heavy headphones.
The Gain and EQ switches on the back are very useful.
My old Pod is attached by the short 30Pin cable, with no need for a Apple CCK adapter.
The sound quality is great (I believe they use an AK4493 DAC).

Yes, I like the sound with Fostex and Denon which were my main phones for awhile
Battery seems to be holding , use it mainly with my laptop. Did you replace the battery yourself or sent it in?
Curious about the version 2 but I don't have a need for portable gears at the moment

I have V1 and V2-used to use V1 quite a bit with an iPad 3, line out into a Microzotl2 amp, with a variety of headphones. The stand that allowed me to connect to the iPad broke and I stopped using it. Never actually compared v1 and v2, only occasionally use v2 for bluetooth listening to streams from my phone (not the most high end source to begin with), mostly just use my dap straight.

I ordered the battery from CEntrance.
It was difficult to remove the glued down battery, and it was a delicate soldering job.

Will continue using my dap to phone when needing portable.
Going iPod to M8 probably more transportable than portable these days. All the changes in the industry, good time to be a part of it

M8 with Meze 109 Pro

I pressed my old M8 into service on my desktop. Sounds great. I like the EQ switches on the M8.
