Cayin RU7: 1-Bit Resistor Network Dongle DAC /Amp

Wow so I tested this song and its the first time I got any sort of stuttering/audio artifacting! Would be interesting to see why this song in particular is causing problems with the all-DSD conversion. Hopefully one of the engineers can take a look and give us a firmware update to fix this weird "bug".
Surely there are more songs that it happens with, heh. This was only the 4th song I tested!

So if you apply 64DSD to an 88.2/96 song, instead of upsampling it does it downsample? Or did I not understand anything as usual? lol
Upsampling, because DSD uses a higher sample rate. DSD64 = 64 x 44.1 or 48 kHz. The bit rate is only 1-bit, not 16 bit however. Instead of a samples representing the volume level at every 1/44,100th of a second, the average of the number of 0's or 1's represent whether the waveform is rising or falling.
Any thoughts on an OG Chord Mojo vs. RU7 comparison?

I love the Mojo, but would appreciate the smaller package of the RU7. My most used IEMs are Audeze LCD-i3 and JVC HA-FX750, and I listen to most any genre except classical. I also value soundstage a lot (and would like to improve on the Mojo's sound stage).
If you want to improve on the Mojo's soundstage, you'd probably want a Mojo 2. The RU7 doesn't (and can't) beat an OG Mojo except in convenience.

Burning in mine 😀. Very impressed with the sound even out of the box. Happy owner of RU6 as well but getting a different sound signature for a very reasonable budget is a steal for me.

Thought some will be interested (47ohm dummy loud, 1kHz test tone)

RU7 (Vol 65)
USB Power Draw: 5.161V 0.143A = 0.74mW
SE Output: 0.0915V 13.63mA = 1.25mW

For roughly the same output power:

W4 (Vol 77)
USB Power Draw: 5.189V 0.118A = 0.61mW
SE Output: 0.0972V 12.59mA = 1.22mW
So in the end the consumption of the RU7 is higher but not even that much compared to the W4, right? Are we talking about 20%?

Should we start worrying? Does that mean that one song out of a hundred doesn't let us listen to it?
It would be curious to know if the N7 behaves like this too...

Which adaptor is that is it the ddhifi one? Looking to pick one up in UK but not easy!
Correct:

DD ddHiFi TC28i Pro Lightning To USB-C Charging Decoding Adapter USB To iOS

Important to know is that it does not work with a fast charging adapter (standard with i-phone since a few years). Works fine with an older one...

Sorry for the newbie question... but don't the smartphone battery wear out much more with these adapters?

An Android DAP for FPS gaming. What’s the latency like ?
Not that I’d ever use one but just curious.
AFAIK, DAPs had considerable latency because it runs its own OS and the USB connection is unlike a traditional async dac/amp but more like a bitstream. Seems wholly atypical to use a DAP for gaming lol

First OOTB impressions of RU7 are a bit mixed (Pixel 7, Qobuz, UAPP, ie900, 44.1/128DSD). I can appreciate the space and separation, which is pretty unique and a boon for symphonic music, but the SQ is a little flat and can sound quite rough - maybe unforgiving on less well recorded tracks? The RU7 (IMOO) doesn't, doesn't have the OOTB charm of the DC04Pro. I'll burn it in for 100 hours or so and see if it improves.
