Cayin N8ii: The Incredible DAP with ROHM DAC and fully BAL Nutube

If you're not in a hurry, you can wait until Kayne releases a new player,
Cayin has announced that this will take quite a while tho.

I think right now is a good time to buy any Cayin DAP without fear of tomorrow having a successor announced.

Thanks, this is true, perhaps I phrased the question badly, I was interested in knowing what differences people who have had experience with both perceived
Your question was very clear, and Yasick didn't answer it.
I do not have answer to give you, but I've often been looking for the answer to your question, for a long time, so I'll be following this thread.

Hummmm…
I don’t get you… 🤔

You can add versality in N7 signature with C9. Class A/AB, transistor vs tubes…

N8II is an all in one, instead of having 2 devices.

The main difference for me, is Dac part and architecture. Rohm vs 1 bit.
And maybe power, I think C9 is more powerful than N8II.

The question is which one (N7 + C9 vs N8II) has the best treble extension, and the most transparent mis-highs ?

Uhmmm…
Non ti capisco...🤔

Puoi aggiungere versatilità nella firma N7 con C9. Classe A/AB, transistor contro valvole...

From what I have been able to understand, the C9 adds little to the n8ii compared to the n7, which is why I am curious about the comparison, it also seems that the latter has better staging and a slightly more analogue/thicker sound with less detail..

Something similar to 'velvet' in AKM449x or typical noise in camera sensor.
That sounds appealing, maybe I should get a 2nd hand N8ii at some point...
