Cayin N8ii: The Incredible DAP with ROHM DAC and fully BAL Nutube
Dec 8, 2021 at 10:44 AM Post #16 of 5,538
Hi Andy. Can I just ask if it will have a streaming capability on board unlike the original N8 or was that a step too far?

There is a good reason to mention 5" OLED screen when I mention dual Nutube implementation. Why would we need a big screen like that in DAP?

Tell me more about SOC. 888 ? If so, it would last 6-7 years :D which is exciting

From what I know, the minimum order of 888 is 100K units, if we can sell that amount of N8ii in 6-7 years, I certainly will advice Cayin to go for it.

OMG this explains that... I think it's overkill for a DAP anyway... 660/665 does the job for a DAP IMHO

Easy, make a Dual SOC 888 to double the power as Dual DAC. Be the first of it kind  lol. Cut down to 50K units worldwide. Since developing dual SOC systems, you can use it on others too!! Everyone benefit

100K is a very small number for mobile phone that use TOTL MCU, so they are doing the right thing to set that kind of minimum order.

why was the question about streaming not answered with a straight answer ? Bluetooth no matter how good some companies try to convince us that its good, its not yet close to using wifi streaming

Pretty easy to read between the lines on andys answer
I know I read in between the lines, but he simply could have answered yes it has support for tidal :), it will make alot of us who r in the market for a new dap to wait with confidence as we love cayin products, but no support for wifi streaming is a no go for me, no matter how great a dap sounds

I think by streaming he meant Tidal/Spotify/Apple/Amazon etc. The N8ii, unlike N8, will be a full Android DAP...
