Now that I have covered the three most important topics: 1-bit DAC, discrete LPF, and discrete HeadAmp, what are the next topics that you want me to explain in detail?
Line out vs Pre out? Charging and battery management?

Been enjoying reading every post 😁

My vote is for Line out vs Pre out for the next topic. For battery, is the 70% rule true for having longer lasting battery?

Thanks, reading through all those explanation posts requires a lot of patient. :beerchug:

I recommend staying within the 20-80 battery range as much as possible. So once you notice the DAP battery count is 20 or below, please charge it when you finish your current listening session. You can set up a charging limit so your DAP will stop charging at 80 or 90%. Perform a full charge and then a full drain to 2% after every 10-20 full charging cycles.

+1 for Line vs Pre out.

Always enjoy reading your detailed and informational topics @Andykong. Appreciate understanding the thinking and design that goes into each Cayin product.

+2 for Line out/Pre Out
Have enjoyed Cayin's implementation on the C9 and N8ii
If there are differences/improvements for the N7 please do tell!

My main question is future vision of Cayin for 1-bit DAC. Cayin clearly demonstrated their ability, I guess where to next after this? Is there going to be a sister flagship for N8ii based on 1-bit dac?

After about 120 hours of play N7 opened up a bit more than what I would like in treble. Before I had it up but now I find myself adjusting down on 2K region and up on EQ.
Still a very much enjoyable 2K DAP with hairline detail reproduction. Definitely not one big blob of sonic signals but can feel the subtle impact and stimulation of each instruments on high def music files.

+1 Line out vs Pre out. And I second the other request for potential views on future of the 1-bit DAC, does Cayin feel they will be expanding the lineup of this type of DAC into lower tier DAPs? Stand alone transportable DAC/AMP or even desktop DAC?

I honestly feel like with DAPs like N7, we're at the peak of excellent sound quality that creates so much realism.

It'd be cool if someday we stop using solder since it's generally based on metals like tin, lead, cadmium, zinc, and indium which aren't the best electrical conductors.

If only we could go to some of the best electric conductors by using or fusing copper, iron, gold, aluminum, and silver in circuit boards, that would greatly improve electron flow and thus sound quality or maybe wait for the coming revolution in silicon photonic integrated circuits (PICs) which use optical interconnects to move data very very fast using light. Military and Aerospace are already using this tech but it may be the next best thing for Super Hi-Res Audio.

In short term, the limit is the cost of R&D, etc as ours is a niche industry.

I have had both. The R01 is very good and a very good price value ratio today. The N7 to me sounds better (richer) and has a better modern DAP UI experience.

Best way to know is to have both and keep the winner.

The N6ii-RO1 is a great player but it doesn't hold a match to the N7, the N7 is probably the most advanced DAP currently in the market because of it's DAC and its even better than the N8ii in that respect. I have all 3 and love them. I use N6ii-RO1 when I travel or walking for exercise, serious listening is N7 and sometimes N8ii. Less revealing headphones and cables may not reveal these differences.

I just sold my N6ii Ti (R01+T01) and bought N7.
I hope i'd like N7 and on paper would be complementary to my DX320X (AMP11.2S / AMP14)
If i understood N7 would have similar RU6 tuning! :)
