Cayin N5ii Technical Support thread

I wrote an email to technical support, I hope to get more help.

Did you get it fixed? Does anybody know if a new battery is available to buy in the UK?
On a different note, has anybody tried using a 1Tb micro sd card in the n5ii? I have successfully used 512 Gb cards.

Did anyone replaced the lcd screen? I need to change it and couldn't find any replace screen.

The reason this unit went out of production quickly is that they made the unit based on availability of screens (I recall 30,000 were at distributors). But then a cell phone company bought out the whole lot for a low end model. So the screens were no longer available to Cayin for manufacturing or support. They had stocked a limited supply or screens for support fixes but possibly that is gone now.

The whole thing is a shame because the unit sounded good. If it stayed on the market, then software support would have cleaned up existing bugs (particularly in the USB input / output system).

I don't use a traditional DAP all that much, but when I do I use this unit so I understand your desire to get it fixed. One possibility is to place a want ad on our forums; somebody might sell you their unit cheap. You could maybe create a Frankenstein of the best parts of each.

Do we know which cell phone model is that? Maybe I can look for spare part of that model.

Honestly I was looking for a dap for myself, I found a Cayin n5ii with a burned screen for cheap. So I am trying to figure out whether I can fix that or not.

Andy at Cayin support might know what cell phone. I did repair my unit once (broken 2.5 mm jack) and had the battery replaced. When it dies in a few years I will just move along to something more current.
