The main reason I am selling the Mojo is that I got really tired of carrying it around with my iPhone, it just made changing tracks by itself a hassle. I use the Apple Music app as my source for music, you cannot use the built in EQ on the N5ii to EQ Apple Music.
I also wasn't too fond of the pairing of the Mojo with the Tia Fourte, i found myself getting headaches/slight fatigue after a short time with that pair up. Can't quite pinpoint what it was but it was a little too warm sounding for my taste. After I sold my Mojo it was almost a direct trade in terms of cost between the Mojo and the N5ii.
Oh, ok. Thx for explaining. Not every sound is for everyone, which is why there are so many different sounding cans, iems, etc. My two favorite sounds are the Audioquest Nighthawk/Nightowl with the hynrid pads, and the ABYSS PHI, so I'm definitely a super warm, yet detailed sound loving individual. Don't like when relatively bright. I have a phone that does bit-perfect playback over USB as my DAP, but I'm looking at the Hiby R6 due to its direct transport audio over all apps, and expansive dap tweaks. Unfortunately have to wait a few months for it to be ready to ship
I just received my N5ii yesterday. It's my first Android DAP. I've updated the latest firmware and installed the two TF cards (128gb ea.) I had been using in my FiiO X5ii.
The FW installed correctly and my music library is intact!
Now I haven't listened much at this point, but have two observations:
-the website mentions capacitive touch buttons. Strangely, I do not notice these on the N5ii. (I also own their N3 and I can definitely feel the touch feedback on that player.) Is there an ON/OFF setting like the N3?
-the VU meters randomly stop responding: sometimes in the middle of song playback, sometimes when one song ends and another begins. Retuning to the HOME screen restores the VU meters function.
Anyone else notice these behaviors?
Also----
What format does Cayin recommend the TF cards be formatted in? and finally...what resolution (size) would you recommend the jpg. album should be for best viewing?
Hi, superuser 1. This is my very first Android based DAP. My FiiO X5 was the 2nd Generation, released a couple of years ago, not their latest 3rd generation. So the UI is quite different between the two units I have-the older FiiO & new N5 mk2 (apples/oranges.) Sorry I couldn't help.

lol. No. That sounds like there's something wrong somewhere else in the chain. If five DAPs give you off-center vocals, look elsewhere for the problem. Cable, Headphone, human ears. Logically, one of these is at fault.

Hi Pinky! I have tested this using my Ultimate Ears Pro Reference Remastered and tried other IEM and headphones.. They are all the same Its really odd to tell you honestly.
I tried it using the 3.5mm not the balanced one so I am thinking I just got no luckfor this and look somewhere else like sony ZX300 or AK 70 MK2.

You can't download music fro offline mode to external storage from which app.? Tidal? Apple Music?
From what you have mentioned, I assumed Joox is fully compatible with N5ii? That's a good news to start with.
From what we understand, the off line mode storage setting is an app based feature, it is not controlled by N5ii, and not all streaming app will support user "selectable" download location, but we can investigate the problem if we can collect more information about your problem.
Is there an online manual for the unit? The included instructions (creatively inserted in the flap of the box) don’t really get to deep into the machine.
I am wondering if there are tricks for navigation for example. Also quick ways to shut down third party apps.
As an aside, I have been playing the Sirius XM app. I knew it did not have the full fidelity of FLAC files, but I am starting to realize just how different the sound of some streaming music apps can be compared to playing FLAC or DSD files.
I am very happy with how well the built in LAN capability synchronizes with my Synology for hi res FLAC. This makes the unit seem to have HUGE storage capabilities when used in the house.
Hello there. Can somebody describe their experience with streaming apps like spotify (sound quality, general stability, wifi connection) on N5-II? Really curious about that, as I'm mostly planning use device for streaming.

I often use the N5-II to stream spotify - it sounds as I expect it to sound, I haven't done any comparisons. If your wifi signal is strong you should have no problems. I've found it doesn't connect to a weak wifi signal as well as my phone does and it will keep losing the connection, but when I have a solid signal it's worked perfectly.
