Cayin N5ii Android based Master Quality Digital Audio Player

Btw, the custom case that is made to order on eBay is very good. It’s thick, so access to the power button is a bit obstructed. Also, I’m hopeful the tight fit won’t warp the aluminum body. I mean, it’s space metal, right!?? Plus side is it feels well-protected.

Hi,the custom case cannot warp the N5ii body, which deploys CNC aerospace aluminum chasis. http://en.cayin.cn/products_info?itemid=111 Don't worry about that. I used the custom case for 4 months and felt pretty good.

Going through the audio options I didn't find any replay gain option. Did I just missed it or isn't replay gain available? (yet?)
I really need it for a couple of my albums so it isn't that dramatic.

Hi, N5ii doesn't have reply gain option. But it has gain settings and DSD gain compensation options under music settings

Hi Andy, can I ask for possibility to set manually Remote Control 'On' and 'Off' on the new firmware? I have some earphones with remote on cable, and they don't play properly. But it's play very well with disabled remote control on another DAP. Thank you in advance!

Hi, it has nothing to do with Remote Control 'On' and 'Off'. Our device can work well with CTIA and OMTP standard remote control headphones but cannot support OMTP headphones remote control function.

Version 2.1 or 3.1? Its supposed to be rectified (mostly) on v3.1

As @seanwee referred, 3.1EN firmware can partially rectify (significantly reduced the frequency) the bug that pop up volume control interface randomly. If your firmware is still 2.1EN, please check out this link and update your firmware:https://www.head-fi.org/threads/cay...tal-audio-player.862763/page-86#post-14028429

Sorry, I forgot to mention. I'm using V3.1EN, that's why it took me by surprise.

Another, minor in this case, thing I have observed is that when I'm playing something from the 1st card and I switch off the player, when I switch on later, it goes directly to the storage media screen, and forgets the song it was playing. That doesn't happen when I do the same playing something from the 2nd card. Both are 64Gb cards, 1st is Toshiba, 2nd SanDisk Ultra.

Thank you for the answer! Perhaps you right, but i have Hidisz ap200 too, and it's have this option (see screenshot please). When I uncheck 'In-line remote', my earphones (cheap hybrids for everyday using) works without any problem. And if it's checked, track just jumps and skips.
I don't need the remote control at all, I just want to disable it. :)

Hi, really sorry for the trouble caused! I have already give your feedback to our senior engineers and we will try our best to solve the problem in subsequent firmware. Have a nice day!

Hi, have you switched on breakpoint resume under music settings? I switched on it and tried just now, founding everything was OK on my side.

No Andy, it works on another DAP, not on Cayin! I just asking about possibility to make the same thing on the next firmware.

Hi,I am not Andy. this is Silvia from Cayin. Sorry for the misunderstanding! Actually, N5ii can supports OMTP and CITA headphones. As long as your headphones are OMTP and CITA formats, they can work with N5ii. You can double comfirm their formats before you decide to buy N5ii.

Sorry, Silvia. :) Actually I have N5ii right now and it's wonderful DAP. The problem is that earphones with remote control on cable don't plays properly on it - tracks are skipped for few seconds. And i have another DAP on android, which have an option to disable remote control. When I disabling it, it's playing properly. Can you add this option to the next firmware?

I would like to see more user impressions here. This seems to be turning into a Tech Support thread :unamused:

Maybe a separate N5ii feedback / suggestions thread is in order
