Hi guys,

Im having a problem with my n5. I tried to charge n5 but it didn't want to. I tried different cables but none of them work. I have push the reset button several times but the problem still persists. Sometime i tried to charge it works but the charging time is too long. Other time, eventhough it indicated it is charging, the battery will drop.

FAT32 is the best for most DAPs I've found. Though exFAT works on a number of them.

When in doubt, just perform a format via the N5, and let it do what it wants.

Can you provide some detail about the charger you are using? 5V? what is the output capacity (in A)? Did you use the stock USB3.0 cable or a USB 2.0 cable to charge the N5?

Is exFAT formatting ok for the N5? Or is there a better one?

For normal operation, FAT32 and exFAT are fine with N5.

But for firmware update, N5 can only work with FAT32 DAP.

The advantage of exFAT over FAT32 is speed/performance on file management and handling very large file (over 4GB), the former issue is not relevant to N5 (but relevant when you copy file from computer to TF card), so the only real advantage is when you need to deal with extremely large SACD ISO file. IF you don't have this in your music library, I would say stick with FAT32 is a better choice.

AUKEY is a good brand, I like their chargers as well.

All these suggested the N5 is having some problem, either the USB port of the power management component is not in good order.

May I suggest the one final test before we go for factory repair : drain the power to zero (turn off automatically) and try to charge it at power off for 1 day (12 hours), tell me what is the final charge percentage after that. Just make sure the charging light is flashing in due course.

Will test that later. Thank you for your concern.

I have done the test. It's only charging till 30%. I need to readjust the connection on USB port eventhough the cable connected securely, the charging light is not flashing sometime.

This is as far as you can handle as customer, I suggest you get in touch with the seller and keep them informed on the test you have performed.

Mind telling me where did you buy your N5 from?

Hey guys,

I'm planning on getting an N5 very soon. Any idea where I could get one of those lovely leather cases, that some of you here own? It seems to be sold out everywhere.

I have a spare Dignis wine coloured case for sale, pm me for details.

Nice case by the way, I got it all along with the N5 for free from a private individual annd I must say I am very happy with it (and with the N5) ! :)
