Can you push it back in when you press on it hard?
Nope, it doesn't go back even if you press on it hard

Hopefully you bought it new from an authorized dealer?

I got it through Amazon Prime, I just re-ordered and got the shipping label to send the damaged one back for a full refund.
Mine is not like that either, it sits level in the centre of the navigation wheel. The action is nice and positive, springing back with a nice 'click'. Hope Amazon sort it out quickly for you, I'd be lost without my N5, even with several fall backs to use. Good luck with it anyway.

Are you a collector of fine DAPs, good sir?

Thanks. I already have the shipping label to return it to Amazon and I already ordered a new one, so it looks like I won't be without the N5 much longer, plus it looks like my balanced cable and dignis leather case will be here right in time with the new N5.

Unfortunately none of my fallbacks are an N5! Only a dx50, Fiio X3, X2 xDuoo.....
So collector? No, I just like quality gear!

I have the Dignis case and it's absolutely stunning. It sounds like your gonna have a replacement soon though

lol. I know. I try and make that my last resort, also. It takes a long time to load them all back. It's not like simply copying my entire library and walking away for a few hours. I have to get into the nitty gritty on what I must have, and what I can live without.
It can help to copy your SD card onto the hard drive, and then simply copy that back over once you've formatted. ...if you have enough free space.![]()
Thanks for the suggestions. I have other cards and tried them (a different Sandisk card, a Samsung card), and I tried using a sample DSD file from 2L... not playing at all!
Btw, DSD64 is playing fine. This is strange and frustrating at the same time

I think I got this! For DSD128, it will play when phones are plugged in (don't ask why I were playing without one plugged in previously). When the phones are not plugged in, error occurs. All other formats plays fine without phones...
Is this a feature? Must be some science behind this?In any case, I am happy again.

I sent a PM to Andykong, but I figured that I'd post this here also to get other peoples opinions. Can anyone take a look at the pictured and tell me if the center button is supposed to be crooked like it is on mine? Should I get a replacement? It still works fine. I just want to know if anyone's N5 center button also looks like that.
You made the right choice returning to Amazon. The center button should look like this:

Don't worry, the button is designed to "move" around within certain angle, it won't fall off, and if you press it hard on the center, it will lay flat again in the center.

Just lost the ability to play dsd128 files. They were playing fine previously with FW 3.0. I downgraded to 2.02 just to see the sound SIG and realised I cannot play dsd128. So I reverted back to 3.0, and now even with 3.0, they cannot be played with the File not support error. Tried reset, button reset, rebuild library, nothing helps.
Any idea how to resolve this?

I cannot figure out what was the reason behind the problem, a mysterious case indeed. I have forwarded the issue to the Engineer for testing.
For the meantime, if you have a spare TF card, please try the following:
(1) format the card in N5, copy the DSD128 files and the V3.0 firmware to the card
(2) Refresh v3.0 firmware again
(3) try to play the DSD128 file in the TF card immediately, without update music library, with and without headphone plugged in.
Fortunately you can continue to enjoy your music right now, I have a weak heart, especially with the numerous instants recently, have to take a break later .....
Yes, I'll have my Chinese New Year break very soon, has started my holiday countdown already.

The N5 handled metal very well, i wouldnt know about pop. If the N6 is better for instruments it will be immense. Cant wait for it to come but 7-10 working days is going to fell like ages
Mark my word and let see whether we have similar impression. Is that a second handed N6? The N6 sings better after 200 hours burn-in in my experience (kind of stable after first 100 hours and the change from 100-200 hours is subtle)
