i have heard almost every daps possible
Used to have the n5 for a short period of time
I like the n5>n6 because of its musicality and warmth. Hope they can find the right balance, right smack between n5 and n6.

You, too? I also prefer N5 to N6 for the exact same reason. N5 has addictive sound IMHO. I'm hoping i5 keeps that C5 / N5 sound and doesn't lean too far to the N6 analytical sound.

I have a sneaking suspicion we're going to like i5 better than X7 warrior1975

I actually not worried as much about the sound (considering it as fine-tuning of n5) or the fw (Hiby had a long time to beta test it with X7 lol!!!), but rather a bit concerned about volume knob inconsistency per the comment from High End show.  I'm sure it will be addressed by the time production starts, just hope Cayin takes their time without rushing (like it happened with first pre-production built of n5 and their nav wheel).  I'm definitely looking forward to check it out, the design looks so sexy!!!  And lately, with an exception of LPG, I lose patience navigating through songs without a touch screen

You mean the one with 20x AA batteries? lol!!!!  Not yet

 
But seriously, i5 and dx200 are the two daps I really look forward to.

There is only one for now. Am2 brother. I did order the am5 too. Am3 as soon as it's available will he ordered.

Beating the X7 will be no small feat. I love this dap. If I can root the I5, it has a shot. Otherwise, unlikely. I am open minded though.

I got one am really glad i5 won't have amp modules. Just give me a well-tuned DAP with fixed internal amp and I'm fine. Don't any failure point of screw on amp modules in a portable. I thought it was cool concept but was not won over in my time with X7.
