@Andykong - would love to have Cayin apply the lower power to the 4.4mm in HA-6A along with speaker taps perhaps next revision would be great to use the amp with headphones and speakers for the KT family of tubes.Glad you have a smooth start with your HA-6A. A lot of users have experienced noise or ground hum problems.
Unlike HA-3A or HA-300mk2, the HA-6A was less IEM-friendly because the 4.4mm and XLR4 phone outputs are identical. I assume the Elysian Annihilator is relatively inefficient? That probably explains why you feel the IEM performs to another level when you drive it with a high-power tube amplifier. We are surprised by pairing with inefficient IEMs as well, that's why we decided to lower the power of 4.4mm of HA-3A and HA-300MK2 afterward, to make it more IEM-friendly.
There you go. A nice long life tube and some good tunes. I find they add a real nice spark of life to the music.
Sophia and Mullarad
Sophia and Mullard
Would love to hear your impression of the amperex tubes.I just snagged a pair of Amperex Holland E80CC tubes. Should be fun.
Would love to hear your impression of the amperex tubes.
The Mullards I use produce a really dynamic, fast sound. Not too tubey sounding, but enough to add slight coloration to the overall sound and I think the Sophia power tubes really add to the warmth as well.
I do like the sound of that...Well, since your Mullards were made in Holland, I'm guessing that they are probably Amperex made.
I do like the sound of that...
I sold it and bought it back again in less than a year, installed RTC 12au7 valves with GL KT88 and end game hahaHey Cayin HA-6 fellas,
it has become very quiet here, are you still happy with your HA-6 or already sold it?
Hype me up pls ^^
Nice to hear that, i love mine too. HA-6 is an incredible sound machineI sold it and bought it back again in less than a year, installed RTC 12au7 valves with GL KT88 and end game haha
UL mode surprises me the most with live music
I tested the HA-6 and 300MKII, both with stock tubes, and there was a slight advantage for the 300.I didnt sell mine I just bought a HA-300MKII so the 6A has taken a backseat for now, I dont intend to get rid of it, I have fond memories of my time with it exclusively, it still offers pentode tube rolling but for now its not the focus. I dont even have it setup currently, I'm getting another HiFi stand to accomadate having both amps available at the same time.
