It would be unfair to propogate that about the Elrogs.
I'm not making any sort of general statement or trying to be unfair (I don't even own any Elrogs) I'm just raising the point that we are seeing people saying their Elrogs died on them.

I'm not making any scientific case here with a sample size or anything, just going from what people are saying on forums, I would point out that Elrog offer a 1 year warranty while as Krude has pointed out WE & EML offer 5 years, a question could be raised about who has more confidence in their tube actually lasting multiple years.

I absolutely have no argument with this - its a very salient point.

That's the mesh plate not the more normal solid plate XLS, just look at that glowing mesh anode, that's just freaky, makes me want it just for that tbh.

Some listening notes below:

cayin sounding better and better
i think it needs a lot of burn in
but its really evolving nicely
its definitely in a totally different league than my modded crack
the refinement, detail, layering
crack is still shockingly good for the money tho but cayin is really in a different league

I’m not sure mesh version is safe with HA-300. Have you read Emission Labs site? Amps with manual bias (like mine) seem to be better in this regard.
Another advantage of bias meter is visualisation of burn-in process. That’s why no one can disagree that brand new tubes get better after some using.

I’m not really sure why we are all so desperately suprised when turning on a new bulb can lead to loss of bulb instantly (seen that twice) and an actual explosion of glass across the whole room (seen that once!).
I’m curious could vacuum tube really explode unless there is no vacuum inside (vacuum presumably means collapse). Have you seen any signs of gas leakage before that accident?
Any purple flares? I read about it. It could make us aware of this kind of failure.
Headphone listeners sitting next to amp should be especially cautious.

Im curious of something, when you posted earlier how you were not that impressed by the difference between your modded crack and new HA-300, how many hours did the HA-300 have?

Lost vacuum most likely but then the getter would have turned white.

I think between 5-10. Thats actual time with a signal going through not power on time. Power on time would be maybe 20+ hours.

It continues to get better btw. I am really getting impressed.
