500+ Head-Fier
A bit of love for the Cascade...after years of speaker only music listening I bought the Cascade as my first “new” headphone. Back in the day I used to have Sennheiser, AKG, Beyerdynamic and Audio Technica...
I decided to go Cascade because it can be driven from almost anything an according the comments in this forum it scales good with better equipment plus it has a fun sound.
At first it had absourd amount of bass. I almost sent them back. Then I gave it time and it got better and better so in the end I kept them. Now, I absolutely love them.
For music I use the lambskin pad with no filter (the factory white filter also removed) for gaming/movie the soft fabrick pad.
Besides being fun and mighty sounding this can never-ever kills a record because its quality. Every music is there to enjoy. I think one of the strenght of the Cascade is its highs. They manage somehow never becoming to hot. But they are also not dull or boring.
And they really-really can scale. I bought a symmetrical cable for it and balanced drive makes a huge difference (in my system).
I think they are truly the music lovers headphone.
