Can you do 40 push ups?

I can easily do 40 consecutive pushups. I use the "Perfect Pushup" bars which supercharges the effort. I do three sets of 25-30 reps twice a week.

I can do 3 sets of 50 oO.

But more pertinent tests are:
A. Can you bench your own body weight 10 times and
B. Can you do 20 dips
C. Can you do 15 pull ups?

Cheers,
Dave

how bout: can you ski for 20km at a pace of 10km/hour? i think the reason the thread is engaging the reader with push ups is that it can be done by anyone with arms anywhere whereas you need equipment, live in a rich country, have perfectly shaped rocks in your garden etc in order to test those things.

I can do 40 push ups but it takes some concentration. After 35, it does get difficult but I can manage. Pull ups are hard for me though.

IMO, I think every male should try to be able to handle 30-40 push ups for good health. But I can do it. You betcha!

I've just done one pushup. I'll report back in 40 days whether I've managed to complete the task.

Are we going to create a how fast can you run thread?
How about creating a how long can you run thread too?

1.5 miles < 9:00 minutes with Bates Boots 922 or 924s while cold, wet, and sandy.

Running I was good at. Had a five mile circuit that I'd run/jog 5 times a week and a couple of seven milers too. Not fast speeds, but long. Did a half marathon this year as well, but it was on one of the hottest days of the year and I ended up with heatstroke. Still finished the race though.

I had a sneaking suspicion and I've just confirmed: I am not healthy.

Perfectly shaped rocks? Is this some kind of crazy european thing? I have never ski'd before, it is far to expensive oO. How about this, can you do a hand stand pushup? if you can do 1 you are very fit. I cannot balance while doing them =(, no doing them against the wall does not count.

I don't do push-ups for workouts. Last time I did a set of push-ups to failure I think I got just over 100. I like to do chin-ups(aka: pull-ups) during workouts. Fresh after some warm-up I can get around 30 supinated and 25 pronated...fairly strict until the last few reps...a very good exercise! I'm 5'11" and weigh 165 lbs.
