Hello, i currently own the audio technica ad700 and its time to replace it I think.
I listen too hip hop, various electronica, drum and bass, metal and some jazz.
I need a headphone with more bass.
Currently im leaning towards dt990 600 ohm version.
The source is my computer with a x-fi sound card.
I'm also going to buy an amp.
Is the source good enough or do i need a new dac?
I would like an open headset, the budget is 300dollars.

I would say you answered your own question.  I amp the DT990/600s and think they are wonderful.  They have great bass, good mids, and great spatial separation.  Highly recommended.  I sold my DT880s because the 990s were better for my musical tastes.

If you like beyer's, i also recommend this. 
Get a nice amp for them.
