Forgot to ask, single ended or balanced?
I run the EX1000 at 65 low gain balanced, on high gain this drops to 45 like you.

@Jackpot77 I never owned the Atlas but I said the solaris nozzle is identical, is that accurate for my order at Custom Art?

Balanced/High Gain using the han sound zen 4 wire/4.4 and mee audio triple flange.

I appreciate the additional dynamism that high gain provides subjectively.

I think Atlas and Comet are the same. Solaris are the same Andro

If you look at the pictures, it looks like Solaris nozzle is like the Atlas

And Andro is a bit different

So my friend is a Treblehead and likes Peaky Treble with sibilance. The Solaris is too dark for him. Would anyone say if VE8 or Flamenco will be a better match for him.

VE8 is not going to cut it for your friend, it has exceptional treble but it's smooth just as the Solaris.

I haven't tried the Flamenco with the treble switch on as it ticked all my boxes with the switch off but it's probably more like it...

The Solaris mids seem to be right where they’re supposed to be. Not forward or recessed. That said, on some tracks I can pickup “micro details” on the Vega that I can’t hear on the Solaris but I’m not saying I prefer the Vega’s mids to the Solaris. The Dreams mids are slightly recessed when compared to the Solaris but not by much. I’d honestly say the mids on the Dream are noticeably more detailed, though. They don’t sound metallic to my ears but they are a little thinner than I’d like. The Solaris sounds way more natural than the Vega and the Dream.

Oh, I forgot to mention earlier that I use a Dita Truth cable (silver) and silicone tips on the Vega. The truth cable pairs very well with it. It honestly takes the Vega to another level in my opinion.
I agree a silver cable does improve the Vega. I switched from the SXC 8 to the Silver Litz as it seemed to open up the Vega.

Treblehead - should try re800 gold. Its 7k peak is irritating, a true treblehead dream

It does scale beautifully. Sounds (more than) very good out of iphone Xs. Even better out of Fiio Q5. But out of the mHugo2 and mDave it is absolutely gorgeous and addictive.

That's one of the item I mentioned in my review and I agree, now I already noticed that with an amp you're getting quite better impact and the one I tried (Oriolus BA300S) is not even mid tier... I'd love to get more headfiers provide feedback on how it scales but I think it will scale beautifully. ....
