Campfire Audio Polaris - New CA IEM
Apr 27, 2019 at 10:29 AM Post #301 of 312
Interested in seeing if the new Polaris has better lower mids than the first version...as most complaints about it seem to be about male vocals sounding a bit hollow and disjointed. Despite owning the Andromeda I still think the Polaris has the most enjoyable/fun tuning on their lineup that I've heard (haven't heard Atlas nor Solaris)
Also hoping the IO is a better Nova.

Hmm I can tell u that Solaris is Polaris big bro.
All rounder, Quality Bass and sub bass, More resolution on Mid, Sparking Hi with layered with airy, and wider SS.
Since both are hybrid, so u can fell fast pace bass due to the DD. Fun factor.
Although Polaris is more Punchy, to fast rumble, V shaped, with enough Spark.

Atlas is different, simple said, u want all bass with Quantity and Quality... basshead direction (although very hard to please bass head).

Well, I shipped my Polaris II back to the dealer. Could not get over the fact that I had to tape of the airvents to make them work on my bicycle. At that price that kind of flaw shouldn't happen I think.Since not all users sit stil in a soundproof room to listen to music

Ahh wel, back in search for a good pair of IEM's that do fill my needs :frowning2:

Oh man.
Would you say it would be a problem on a train or windy day for example?
I dont ride a bike or wear wired IEMs for exercise.

A train only when you stick your head outside  But on a nice windy day it can certainly happen. If I ride my commuterbike I'll be pedeling along at 15-19km/h. Winds easely reach that speed were I live. So yes, I think you might have that while walking in windy areas for shure.

Hoping to get some feedback for the new Polaris 2. I'm opposite of what most want in regards to isolation. The less isolation the better for me. I work in an office and I need to be able to hear my phone and coworkers. Very, very few truely open back IEM's exist one of which is IMR Acoustics R1(and R1 Zenith) with an R2 releasing soon. I'm going to be returning my R1 Z as I'm not happy with it. There's also the more known Audeze iSine line and the UM ME.1 which both look ridiculous to me, can't stand the design.

How am I looking here for isolation, will I have any luck with different tips or is it fully isolating like most are? Sound leakage is another factor which I'd like a minimal amount to escape (for night time listening with the wife laying beside me).

If you want lack of isolation try the Sony MDR 7550/EX800ST/EX1000 as those are practically open back IEMs. However like most other open back IEMs they will protrude and give you that debateably ridiculous Frankenstein bolt look in your ears.

Seal with the campfire shells will vary based on tips and ear shape but they will definitely seal off a lot of noise no matter what tips you use.
