Campfire Audio - Introducing 2 new models Hello Andromeda and Nova

How much is isolation affected due to the vents versus the existing lineup?

I haven't noticed any issues or difference versus my other IEMs. I believe the same design was used in the original Lyra's. Cheers

Uh oh, new campfire flagship is out. Who's selling their Andromeda?

For those that might not have seen Ken's posting on the subject (emphasis added by me):

"Before I go on and talk about the 3 new models I want to talk about what people consider "best" IEM and or "flagship". We at Campfire Audio really wanted to do things from a different angle than our respected competition. We want to have a healthy variety of musical perspectives to offer, not just the same old sound re hashed. In this effort we have been working hard on these dynamic driver IEMs. I have stated and still very much feel that IEM audiophiles will lean to a balanced armature camp or a dynamic driver camp and each technology will bear totally different fruits to your ear. I strongly feel this is the case with the Vega vs Andromeda vs Dorado, all 3 are in the end zone so to speak and one will be your personal "best" and or your personal "flagship". Yes the costs are all different but these reflect the cost of difficulty in making them appear

. So each of these has something uniquely awesome to that particular model to offer."

Cheers

PS - If the other post was in jest/sarcasm I apologize!

I have the means to purchase a true TOTL IEM and EE and ALO really stand out to me. I've liked the impressions of the Andro for so long man. I want universal and ALO provide really tough construction aswell as appear to be an awesome company to deal with! That vega has really got me interested. I'll wait for impressions and how it stacks up against Andro.

Would a single driver really be able to output exceptional sound and dynamics etc across the full spectrum? Sorry for my ignorance

I wouldn't think that Ken would produce anything but stellar. Personal choice will always be preference based. I just looked at the Vega on the CA website, and could have easily clicked the submit button to place my order. Personally...I can't justify having the option to have something that sounds "different." It's either one or the other. Which do I feel flips the switch for me. I have Andro's but I still own a pair of 846's with less than an hours play on them. The truth...I always go for the Andromeda because it presents what I prefer to listen to. Now I'm trying to justify keeping my FiiO E12A as well because I don't use it anymore. I have too much stuff around me that doesn't get used...lol

lol ye I deffinetley know the feeling, the struggles real with hoarding lol.

I could sell a pair of v moda crossfade wireless, Vibro labs Aria IEM, jvc sz1000 with a few diff pads, cayin c5 portable amp with hifimediy android dac and a pair of psb m4u2... im sure these would yield a helping chunk towards a new TOTL IEM.

I love the website description, just have no idea how the sound would differ to BA IEM's...

I've been a home stereo enthusiast most of my life. I worked up on The Mountain at BOSE for a while, and everybody used to comment "Wow, they're the best!" I always replied that when I go to a rock concert at there are a bunch of little speakers spread around all over the place, we can have that discussion. Several years ago somebody made me aware of single driver speakers. One full range speaker in different types of enclosures. I was fascinated. I still am, but I can't bring myself to buy them. I'm sure that a single dynamic driver IEM is very capable. Equally across the entire FR at the same time...I will have to wait until somebody nearby owns a pair by ANY manufacturer to hear it for myself.

Congratulations to Ken for being so innovative!

not going to lie, a/b'ing my aria with the miracle made me realize how far away the mids on the aria sounded (put aria for sale up within 10 minutes!) ... then i a/b'd the miracle with the andromeda -- andromeda will blow your MIND.

There are enough examples where IEMs with one driver achieve more than others with 6, 8 or 10 drivers (e.g. Final Audio, Etymotic).

But I would be interested in the Dorado Hybrid. Unfortunately due to choice of colour it will be unwearable in public.
