Campfire Audio - Holocene and Mammoth

I’m curious as to whether or not the Holo’s are incorporating the new custom high frequency BA+TEAC being implemented in the New Solaris X?
I was so impressed by the neutrality of the single BA Orion iem when I first heard it. I also appreciate the speed, extension, and cool balance that is had with the Ara. Maybe the Holo will be that sweet spot for the Campfire house “Reference” tuning?

Oof, if they have the same insertion depth as the Ara, I won't be able to do it. They may be stellar IEMs, but man do they dig in there.

See, I just emailed support about CIEM tips for their UIEMs because if the tips are going that deep, why not offer the better fit?

Do you mean CFA support? They don't do custom tips anymore.

From reviews i guess the Dorado more L shaped, thighter bass and better mids then polaris. Mammoth i assume will be L shaped oriented too, or max U shaped., since it has an extra driver for the mids and the bio celulose diafragm, but will see.

I agree , i have polaris 2 and they have the mids a bit to recessed and can´t listen to them at higher volumes. Would like something with more mids or fuller mids but with fun factor of the polaris, which i enjoyed.
I don’t mind recessed mids so much but the Polaris II was so “fun” it limited itself to a few genres. In fairness- I have since owned EE Bravado’s and 64 Audio Nio and would say nothing slams like the Polaris II’s. Nothing. Haven’t even heard a set of full size cans yet that could move as much air. I’m sure they exist but the bass on the Polaris II’s was truly visceral.

i will be pleased if the mammoth has an L-shaped tuning. I’ll try to post impressions as soon as the arrive.

That's a bummer. I guess it's back to the DIYCIEM approach. I wish there was an index of bore l/w/grill and body dimensions for all of them. It is cheaper for me to get my whole collection 3D scanned in one batch, so knowing dimensions and bore:body relationships for all the line would be really helpful.

Yes, would like to see them. Especially since you know the Polaris 2.

Yes the Polaris slams alot, one of the reasons why i can't listen them at higher volumes. If the mammoth slams similary but more L shaped that would be great and more allrounder iem.

The Polaris 2 were too much. Now, if we're getting into Andro Gold territory, instant buy. The Golds have my favorite low-end and I dearly miss that sound.

We know how much we miss the Golds equally bro :worried: if cost was of no concern I'd have both.

Perfect world for me would be having an IEM with the bass of the gold in true DD form, but maintaining the mids and highs.

Some photos for the curious.

The Mammoth definitely needs a few more hours on it. It is probably the DD that needs a bit of loosening up (the Holocene was mostly ready out of the box).
So i will refrain from making any impressions at this point.

KZ Vs. CFA? To quote Jules Winnfield, “not the same ballpark, not even the same ****ing sport.”
Totally understand that I'm just thinking sound signature wise.
