Sentral Dogma, in general I think a tandem first jump is really the way to go for 95% of interested folks.
It involves much less ground training and allows the average student-passenger to more fully appreciate and enjoy the experience simply by taking a lot of the "pressure" off.
The USPA.org site talks a little about the various methods, AFF, tandem, and static-line. Any are suitable for a first jump, but only AFF and tandem allow an individual to experience the "skydive" or freefall component of a jump on their very first exit.
BTW, there's nothing even remotely "sissy" about a tandem jump.
Definitely a very high "wow-factor" coefficient, LOL.

Originally posted by Sentral Dogma wow, synchronicity. i wanted to say "jump out of a plane" but didn't. Mostly because it seems exciting and because I've been interested in doing it for a while. TravelLite, I'm not sure how different it is in different places, but generally you have to jump three times with the parachute pulled right when you leave the plane, before getting to actually skydive by yourself? I also thought of doing tandem, but i want to jump alone some day. |
