God I hope so too, I tried him on his mobile but the mobile network must be down at the moment?

Thank God you had the day off Steve, this is a horrendous attack on innocent people and my heart goes out to all those poor people who are trapped underground.

The picture of that bus ripped apart sent shivers down my spine, it was packed full of people

Whoever is responsible for this wants to be strung up by the feet and left to rot, they are pure scum.

Saw the news break on BBC a few hours ago. Mike - I'm relieved to hear that you were not anywhere near the blasts. I hope all your friends living in the city are ok too.

Still, I'm in a bit of a shock now - London... I mean, London!

I may be jumping to conclusions here, but religion mixed with intolerance can be such a terrible thing. :sigh:

Just saw the tail end of the Tony Blair conference on the matter, didn't have my headphones hooked up for the rest of it, so I don't know what he said about the bombings.

I've just seen in the news that a faction of alquaeda said they were the responsible for these attacks. Seven explosions now...

I don't know how to correctly say this, but all my thoughts are with London people right now.
This is a strange timing indeed, just after the olimpics announcement and g8!
Do you think it is over, or that they might be more attacks?

What's that got to do with th Lonodn bombing you may ask?

Well I work in the city and travel into Kings Cross then go to Aldgate via Liverpool Street. So as you can imagine I'm a bit of a state at the moment and keep welling up when people ring up home to see if I am alright.

Duncan works/worked near Farringdon which is between Kings Cross and Aldagte so I hope you are all right mate.

I can't call work as the phones are not responding and have yet to get any email so I'm a bit apprehensive over certain colleagues.

I thought something to take my mind off it might help but apparently not.

Steve

Steve,

I didn't realsie you worked in that part of town, glad to hear you are OK. I hope you colleagues are OK too. Likewise Duncan. If anyone has a landline number for him, you could try that, as I think they are working OK, it's just the mobiles that are intermittent.

I'm stuck in Southwark at the moment - no busses or tubes running, and it's not evenworth walking back to Kings Cross station, as no trains are going in or out of the capital

Politics and religion are going to obviously be a hot topic here in the future, but for now let me just extend my hope that all of you are ok over there!

Agreed, let's try to keep it clean, everyone(I'm no mod, but you know what I mean). I'm assuming internet traffic from the area isn't necessarily hindered, should anyone send PM's in the direction of any of our Londoners to make sure they are OK?

Internet traffic isn't hindered as such, it's just the, understandably, the news sites are being hammered right now

That's good to know, I guess. There are two things I'd suggest doing as of right now then, any HeadFi members with family/friends online in the area should email/contact them, or at least attempt to do so immediately, and the same goes for our own in the area, those that haven't popped in yet or aren't online now(if that's okay with everyone).

Deeply saddening news of another set of al Qaeda organized terror attacks on innocent unarmed civilians just trying to get to work and about their lives. Our prayers are with the victims and their families, with your brave police/fire/emergency men and women, with our friends, and with your entire city and country. To come from the highs of winning the 2012 Games and successfully hosting the G8 summit to the lows of irrational loss and fear are beyond description.

My Love and Best Wishes are with our English Brothers today.

There’s a lot to say and a lot to do but for now I hope you get through this as safely and quickly as possible and it doesn’t happen anywhere else again.
