Blur Earbuds Lovers

What does that blur sound like?
Just got it today but listening to it all day I find that the bass and sub-bass is extraordinary... with superb timbre... and a reference quality in details and feeling all around. Thus far I am finding it plots somewhere between under the "T" in FLAT and just above the "N" in MID-CENTRIC though with time it is drifting towards the left some (smoother/warmer) with certain music genres. I think this will be a very difficult earbud for me to plot as it has a lot of strong secondary characteristics that almost are primaries!

My favorite IEMs are without a doubt the Mest, closely followed by the Isabellae

But in any case it has become clear to me that the Blur profile is not what I am looking for.

It would be a shame to overlook Blur buds if you enjoy the Isabellae, which itself is quite midforward in its signature.

I would recommend the Blur 189 Hybrid MX64 aPs if you enjoy Isabellae. As others have mentioned, no Blur reminds me of the MEST (I've only heard MK2).

The 189 Hybrid MX64 aPs is less forward (but still mid centric) and is more approachable than the OFC MX64 STE that I typically recommend to those who enjoy Isa.

Sounds like my ideal, will this be the bud that will get me out of the rabbit hole?

I wonder...!

Were you thinking of going for 400ohm driver for the 266R tuning?

Likely! I'll of course consult Wong and take his advice into consideration. I do enjoy taking full advantage of my desktop setup since I rarely use a mobile setup, so it feels like it makes the most sense to go with the 400ohm. Granted, higher impedance != better, so we'll just have to see.

I really like the tone/timbre on the 400 driver so it's very tempting for me too, but part of me thinks I need to give the PK150 a go. Similar to you, this will all be subject to change depending on what Wong says.

What are the chances of it curing my affliction?
Doubtful, very doubtful. I am very sad to have to tell you that 'flathead ailment' has no known cure. The only way to survive and alleviate some of it's known side effects is to purchase more earbuds.

Sounds like something the national health service should provide a prescription for and subsidise! 'Music therapy'...and to ensure maximum efficacy I must use only the highest fidelity equipment.
