All came in today but sadly my ears are ringing from crazy day at work. Taking pictures for now..
I appreciate your replyThanks for the response and I have been waiting for others' reviews. I never use the stock cable to do the sound test (the stock cable is fine thou). And I tried seversl tips and settled with Sony's. I think our BL01 and EDX are all non-faulty according to your description it is just difference preferences we have. I totally agree the BL-01 is smoother however lacks a lot of details at the top end. I compared with my Tin T4 to confirm this while the T4 was still quite smooth. The imaging and stage you didn't mention however, are really the worst I have heard in 2020. Having a large stage isn't necessarily good IMO casue it can make the sound image blurry. Listening to live recordings with the BL01 is like sitting in a hall with very poor acoustic that the speakers are misplaced. You hear the bass from really far almost like from another room, the vocals recessed and the highs are like above your head.
I actually suggest you tip rolling for your EDX as I hear no sharp peaks (however the sound is still a bit dry and I am using JVC spiral dot). The EDX is not perfect and shouldn't be expected to be for its price as well as for the Bl01. However the poor top end detail and the super odd imaging are really not for me.
Well, different tastes for different ears, luckily we've got different options to choose from based on our preferences.
In my case with EDX, I've had to partially cover the nozzle with micropore tape in order to tame the upper mids and treable peaks that I hear. After the mod, i've been using it as my running workout IEM , because it's so cheap I don't mind if it breaks, and it sounds pretty decent.
I encourage you to do one more thing before sentencing BL-01: experiment with the equaliser, bring bass and midbass frequencies down a bit, and increase treble a bit (at around 8 - 10k) . BL-01's driver takes EQ pretty well and it makes the sound more open, revealing and detailed.
Would like to try. Can I put them back if I didn't like the naked sound?today i finally tried meshless, and boy it's better, things get to flow freely, and luckily i have dry ears so wont accumulate gunk anyways
according to them you canWould like to try. Can I put them back if I didn't like the naked sound?

Thanks. I am using my old phone to burn-in the bl-01 now I will try if I can hear any difference after. I think I am quite sensitive to treble and I already hear sibilance I am not sure if increasing the treble would be a good idea.
some thoughts on the bl-01 vs bl-03 (at least the tuning i got):
Bass definitely cleaner and not bleeding into the mids.Treble as a whole is good, but prefer the one on the 03. Instruments are pretty decent on the 01 and are slightly better than on the 03, stage on the 01 slighty more expansive > than 03. Overall the 01 is less musical to my ears than the 03, but is way more polished than the 03 in stock config. The ideal set may have been a combination of both??
For reference, I did the filter mod on the 03, which already cleaned up alot of the bloat. 01 is fresh from the box. I used the same cable and sources. The connector seems to be 0.75..had a very tight fit using 0.78 to the point where i felt the pins could snap if i forced in it more...

Note: my bl-03 is slightly modded with different dust filters.
Ok so my stock cable came faulty (channel got reversed) so I slapped on the Volt cable and started listening to it.
Hot damn, this sounds great! Impeccably clean and quite a bit faster sounding than the BL-03. This actually sounds better than the other two 20-30x more expensive IEMs I just got when playing classical music.

I just got my ears on the new blon 01. They are awesome for 22 squid. Fit is perfect for my big ears with large flip tips. Bass is nicely textured, plenty of sub bass too. V shaped just how I like it. Very much like the o3 in terms of tuning, but the bass is more detailed.
Tuned to perfection in my book. These are up there with my kz zsx. Bass is slightly more refined on these, but the treble is slightly better on the kz zsx. These more than make up for the badly tuned 05. Hats off to Blon!

Merdre! I have loved two Blonds...sorry Blon 03s and nurtured them with cables and tips. Being a sucker for a Blond...sorry Blon, I pressed the £11.50 button on the Blon-01. Who can say no to a Blon?
