Just FYI, the "green light" isn't reliable. The system says he last visited on July 2nd.

FYI ... Sending a "Request for Money" via PayPal isn't a hard process.  All you'll need to do is pull up his e-mail address from your historical transactions and go through the request process.  You can edit the subject to state whatever you want.  Then, you have a space to type up information that your request is based on so this note will be passed onto Bill.  The note area is limited to 300 characters, so just think about what you'd like to say.  In my request ...

Bill,

On March 28, 2011, I sent you $10.00 to cover postage for Grado SR-325i "liners" that you were going to construct out of wood.  It is now 7/10/2011 - Nearly 3 1/2 months since that transaction has happened.  However, I'm requesting this money back so I can give these funds to a local charity.

Ugh I just want my headphones. It seriously sucks to not have a pair of grados in your life. There have been soooo many times I've wanted to rock out only to remember that I am gradoless.

..offtopic. Anyone have updates on Bill's status? Also, the paypal request for money is simply that. A request right? So if it gets ignored, what other avenues are there? Also, for those planning to take legal action, are agreements made over forum messaging services considered legally binding? Might want to consider those issues before going to town and all.

The Paypal request is just that, a request, that sends an email. No action is really necessary.
Re the legal questions, I'm not qualified for your Anglo-Saxonic mumbo jumbo

Haha no I'm saying what happens if the request gets ignored. And uhh basically is he committing a legal offence of any sort that the police can even be called in for? Might not be fun calling them up just to be told "I'm sorry but if you made this agreement over private messages I'm afraid the issue is between you two to sort out". Anyhow, I'd suggest against only taking that recourse if everything is beyond hopeless. And at this point it may seem close to some but imho it hasn't reached there. Yet.

I called the FL police dpt. For those interested in taking legal action asap, call your local pd, explain the situation and they will contact the Lakeland sheriff dpt which will visit Bill, examine the situation, and make an arrest if legally binding action to complete his orders is not taken.

..you've already done it? I see. I didn't know orders made over the head-fi PM system count as legally binding.

It makes sense. In my country a verbal agreement is binding if the type of contract being celebrated doesn't demand any formal particularity. A PM exchange, assuming both individuals can be legally identified as themselves, should be binding also. Of course, anything legal is sometimes debatable... moreso when I never did any actual civil work with US law
