is the T1 good for electronic music, and is there a little isolation?

Yes. It is on my list. I'm curious about what has been heard and if there are any that are particularly wonderful withe the T1.

Nothing is for sale yet. I'm just saying I would have to sell something if I was to buy the T1. I'm also a pack-rat, and hold onto things till the last minute.

Does anybody know how to open the T1 cups to get to the driver connections?

You can open the cups with ease using a small flat-head screwdriver as in dt880.

Hey, I am just curios what needs to be done if someone wants to re-cable them. I am very happy with my Complement cable in the HD800 and I am just kicking around the idea of re-cable them with the DHC "Clone" cable. It doesn't mean that I am doing it nor that I am going to open them... Don't die just yet!! he he he... maybe later....

On a different note. I did another quick listening after 24 more hours of burn-in to realized that we I said before regarding the darkness of the midrange is not really the driver changing sound during the burn-in process. It is all about the positioning of the headphones. I have never had headphones (inlcuding the HD800 with the angled driver or the W11JPN also with an angled driver) so sensitive regarding the sweetspot in relation to your ears. I am findig the T1 extremely sensitive to the position. They really change their sound if they are not exactly in the sweetspot. They can go dark or bright or move the center of the soundstage left or right with just a little move out of the sweetspot.

Is anybody experiencing the same thing? or I just have weired ears?

Yes, I had mentioned this awhile back...

And so had you...

I just realized how critical positioning of the T1 in your head is. If they sit too forward they sound dark, if they are too much to the back they sound bright and if they are not symmetrical between left and right the center of the soundstage move either left or right depending on how they are positioned.

There are other headphone with this kind of effects but I have never noticed it so clear and critical.

When they are in the right sweet spot they sound great but with smaller (hight wise) soundstage compare to the HD800.

It is certainly true that the position of the earcup is super critical for the 'audiophile' level of sound to come through. For this reason, I'd say these are meant for hardcore headphone junkies - for the casual listener, I'd recommend sticking to the DT880 because they are very forgiving when it comes to placement, and they are also more comfortable when worn for long periods of time. That being said, I am totally loving the T1's.

How do you think headphones are re-cabled?

If only you could have seen the things I've done to $1000 cans...

I would still cringe... and yes I am quite aware of how headphones get recabled.

Just received these babies 10 mins ago, the package is lighter than i thought. Initial impressions are the mids are a little forward and extremely clear with some treble sparkle, reminds me a bit of HD800 except there's much less glare at the 1k-5k region. Very clean sounding, bass is a little lacking at the moment but it always does when i just turned on my WA6. Detail retrieval definitely blows D7000 out of the water. Oh, and its pretty comfortable.

One question, the drivers seem to be covered by some plastic filter, am i supposed to remove it, or that's the way it is?
