Out of the box, the T1 didn't have much bass but it improved a lot after 3 hours of burn-in. After about 30 hours of burn-in, the T1's bass blows away the HD800. IMO, its not close enough for cables to make a difference.

I thought somebody here said that the cable actually had 3 wires were the negative and the ground (the one attached to the back of the driver structure) were connected together to the ground of the TRS plug.

Did I misunderstand something?
Have anybody re-termiate the T1 stock cable to balanced yet? or at least took a look to it and confirm what I am seeing? (1 wire and heavy copper shielding per side)

Stop it, you're killing me!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I did notice a difference in my HD800 bass with the Complement cable and balanced configuration. It did get deeper, more control and impact.

It will be interesting to compare them after the T1 has 200 hours of burn-in.

For me this is where the magic is. It's hard to find a headphone or speaker that pulls this off well. I've personally found there is a fairly narrow frequency band in the upper midrange and low treble that greatly affects this quality. Some headphones deliberately notch this frequency out with a significant dip in response, and while some may frown on this as not being a neutral response I've always found the result to be to my liking without giving the impression of a lack of balance.

I didn't need a cable upgrade (and balanced) to find that the HD800s bass quality (control and detail) still slightly exceeds the T1s. The T1s are more impactful and generally I prefer their bass presentation overall.

One thing I noticed is that the T1 are harder to drive than any other headphones in my collection. In my RP010B I need to go around 11 o'clock even using the Hi gain output and with the GS-1 needs just past 12 o'clock in Hi gain too.

The rest of my headphones the amplifiers are between 9 and 10 o'clock or even less.

I just finished setting things up to start the burn-in process 24/7 for 8 days.

I agree with you MacedonianHero, the HD800 with the stock cable sounds great. I really liked them. What I am saying is that the Complement cable IMO took them even to a higher level.

You need to get yourself a tube amp.

Wow, that's not a whole lot. But for $1000 headphones, maybe it is?

Mine is 1404 and I got mine 2 weeks ago. That's 281 in 3 weeks, about 100 per week.

are the T1 considered as hard to drive? is it like the senns (HD600/650/800)
or less than that? I read that the beyer technology increases their output volume to twice the volume or something like that.

Yes. They are hard to drive like high-end sennheisers. You are not getting enough volume direclty from ipod, for example.

T1 stock cable has 3 wires per each side.
Red(or green) and white inside, black shielding outside.
And all 4 wires except red and green were soldered together to the ground of the TRS plug.
