I'm no expert on either of these headphones, but the general opinion is that the DT880 Pro isn't worth getting.  The DT880 600ohm version, on the other hand, is spectacularly good and often touted as a top level dynamic headphone.

True about the 'concensus' that most who have had experience with both recommend against all iterations except the 600 ohm. With few if any exceptions.

What is your music of choice? What are your source files (lossless, mp3, SACD - high res, etc.). A DAP or computer?
Lots of variables.
What are you attempting to do... analyze the music or just kick back and listen?

Just kick back and listen, source 228kb and 24 bit flac

HD650.

And this will surely get me flamed by those rabid and intolerant DT880/600 owners.

x2 on the DT880-600Ω
I had the DT880PRO.  Got tired of it.
It has a grungy, fun sound, but not as fun as my SR325is.

x2 on HD650 as well, so choose wisely which sound signature you want.  HD650 will be more detailed.  I read HD650 is silkier, darker, and bassier than HD600 which I used to have.

Why did you get tired of the DT880 PRO.

Also what do you think makes the SR325is more fun than the DT880

SO which one is your best bet>?
