Is it possible that there have been slight tweaks or revisions made to the Beyerdynamic DT-880 600ohm headphones since '05? Or have they been producing exactly the same product since then?

I don't think there have been any revisions. They switched to new cables to replace the old ones, but hat's about it. I've seen some DT880 without the diodes installed, but nothing else.

All the dev seems to be focused on making newer (expensive) models.
