Beyerdynamic DT 1990 PRO - Beyer's open-back mastering headphone

That looks so bad it could be good
Basically it just makes the headphone louder and reduce the mid so we could listen at lower gain for same volume

Put those on an Amiron and you’ve got yourself a DT1990
Unless you set volume by the mids...That looks so bad it could be good

Does anybody have any experience with 'upgrade' cables for the DT 1990?
I seem to recall reading somewhere that cables designed for AKG headphones are not suitable, despite having the same connector, is that right?

I would also be interested in finding this out.

After a quick Google, it looks like left and right channels would be swapped.I seem to recall reading somewhere that cables designed for AKG headphones are not suitable, despite having the same connector, is that right?
I don't have any recs for a cable.

I switched to a Hart Audio cable to get something more suitable for desk usage that wasn't the heavy coiled cable and I'm extremely happy with it.Does anybody have any experience with 'upgrade' cables for the DT 1990?

I second that, go with a Hart Audio Cable System or if you don't need a configurable Cable System i can recommend Sky Audio Cables (on Ebay) from the UK.
what stupidity someone should make a $10 adapter and make bankAfter a quick Google, it looks like left and right channels would be swapped.

Better yet, make a $150 adapter, give it a pretentious name and shiny connectors, and make like Goldman Sachs in '07!what stupidity someone should make a $10 adapter and make bank
(Also, according to @Chastity's link they're cross compatible)

How do the dekoni elite velours impact imaging quality? I’m going to be using this for comp gaming as well as music, so I wouldn’t want to make it worse. I just saw 2 people on Reddit talking about this, how you should change to analytical pads when gaming, and the other said that there’s less imaging and detail but everything else was a plusGet a amp with more power and dekoni elite velours with the amiron wireless foam disc
You dont need to add a g6 for surround you can use the hesuvi plaugin for apo eq
not happening in a million years changing BD pads are like opening a next level pickle jar, if you want easy to change pads I suggest 2 pairs of aftermarkets I hear brainwavz don't fit into the normal BD system but go on top of it. I have a pair coming to day so I can comment on that layerHow do the dekoni elite velours impact imaging quality? I probably wouldn’t be constantly changing pads myself really, that’s why I’m just wondering if imaging quality goes down with those, I might just stick to analytical pads then if it’s major tbh.not happening in a million years changing BD pads are like opening a next level pickle jar, if you want easy to change pads I suggest 2 pairs of aftermarkets I hear brainwavz don't fit into the normal BD system but go on top of it.
