My DT1990 shipped today. I will give a brief impression of it once I get it in the mail. I found out something interesting yesterday about the DT1990 as well. Does anyone here have one that came in this newer box ? It turns out, that Beyer has recently updated the packaging, and the latest ones now come in this box. The ones in this packaging also have a slightly updated tuning with a reduction in the 8kHz peak. I asked Beyer about this, and they confirmed the info. I wonder which one I will end up getting.

That 8kHz is refered as sibilance? Just need to know for sure. Hopefully Beyer will do that too for 1770.

I would bet Amazon has both in stock, so who knows what one I will end up getting.
depends on the third party seller. if you select the new & used button on the page it'll usually tell you who the seller is. you can contact the seller directly and ask if you're that curious. I recently did this because I was looking for the older revision of the HD660S

Hey, I just realized I have the same box. Is the base of that box orange on the underside? I bought mine in November.

I wondered why my box had new ID sticker attached.

Not sure, that was a picture of someone's box on Amazon. When I saw it, I contacted Beyer to ask about it. That was when they told me that the latest ones now have this box, and that the DT1990 headphones that come in this new packaging have been updated with a reduction to the 8kHz peak now. How do you find the treble on your pair ?

A friend of mine in town here owns a DT1990. He has had it for a couple years now. If I end up getting one in the newer package, I can ask to him to let me compare his DT1990 to the one I get. How do you find the treble on your pair, Chastity ?

Edit: I am wondering where you bought yours from too, since you have the updated version.

i don't have an issue with siblance, except on certain songs. I still use Oratory1990's EQ for Analytic pads, but I did raise the mids and treble from his presets. I posted them earlier in this thread. Would explain I thought others saying these were harsh and siblant were crazy. :D
