If the DT1770 is too dark compared to your home system, then that home system of yours is not my piece of cake for sure

Ya think? Shouldn't assume anything. This system sound alive and fresh, I could say the same think about your home system, if you love the 1770's, I won't like your system. Headphones can never beat a good Hi-Fi. Is your system at home good enough to beat a cheap pair of headphones?

The sound has less impact and a softer edge to it in regards to the bass at least. The treble sounds a bit sibilant on some songs with the velours.

Have you heard the Nighthawk with Mojo, don't want the 2 of them to sound too similar, can I say with velour the sound is brighter?

Ive only heard the nighthawk with mojo briefly but they don't really sound anything alike. The Beyers are more refined.

You can have an impressive collection of hardware for sure, but when it is brighter tuned than a DT1770 it is definitely not for me.
Enjoy your precious rig and let us move on back on topic.

Congratulation -- at last :)
Thanks do you have a link?

I got mine from Amazon.de, I think it was this one:

http://www.amazon.de/Replacement-Upgrade-Kabel-K240sK141-Pioneer-HDJ-2000-Kopfhörer/dp/B00UOKTJG2/ref=sr_1_2?ie=UTF8&qid=1456938374&sr=8-2&keywords=akg+702+kabel

Just search for "akg 702 cable", pin layout is identical between the AKG K7xx series and the DT1770.

1).

The right driver rattle issue occurred mostly to the units that were possibly put in 'burn-in' for long hours on high volume?
(I just want to make sure, I don't do it when I receive my replacement pair this week.)

2.)

Also, do we have any in-house list of serial numbers that were affected by the right driver issue?
(Mine old one was 02003. Hoping the new one is far far far away from that batch.)

Does anyone tried to remove the inner fibre which is against the driver?

If so, how you removed the ring which is around the driver which is under the earpad?

Asking as I want to check how it can influence the sound signature - should be a bit brighter, don't you think so?
