Totally agree on the XM3, it wasn't being used for "audiofile" service but potentially for work use. Datacenters get loud and I need something that will work that I can control / provide and will be there when I need it. Rather than worry about a shared resource being available. When I get called in to solve problems there's already a mob of hot bodies there acting as hat racks for all of the protective headphones.@hmscott
From the sounds of it, it looks like wired will stay superior. BT is asking for trouble some day.
So the best thing is to keep the AWC or get another pair if they are returned and stick to BT adapter and or wired if BT is not needed.
When Netflix had to reduce their capacity, I noticed the sound was lagging behind, like 0.5 seconds when I used the AWC wireless.
I tried the XM3 and holy crap, the bass is muddy, not fun at all and everything sounded congested. It sounded like poop hitting the wall.
From the reviews on the XM4, it's not any better and you'd be wasting money on it.
The XM3 was a particular stand out in BT headphones as far as audio fidelity disappointment though; perhaps I was just a bit too happy to drop the XM3 when the ANC failed me.
I dropped the AWC off at UPS to send back to Amazon yesterday, along with the Avantree DG60. Gonna miss the AWC, not so much the DG60.
Netflix so far glitches playback for me occasionally - due to quarantine level load demands, but no audio lag issues for wired or wireless, now that I think about it it's been a long time since I've experienced audio lag.
So, what about the Amiron Home? Should I get that or "save up" my intent and steel myself to make that $1k jump to the T1.3 or T5.3?
