Beyerdynamic Amiron Home (the new T90)

......... the creaking swivel joints at the ear cups.
Does this eventually go away, needs lubricating or is seen as a manufacturing flaw and should be returned to the supplier or Beyerdynamic.
I've sent a similar inquiry to Beyerdynamic so should hear from them next week.
Follow up...Beyerdynamic got back "contact your dealer as the headphones need to be checked."
So dropped them off to the dealer who will send them to Beyerdynamic, but was given an estimate of 1-2 month turn around. :slight_frown:

Hiya, I've had these headphones for like 5 years and really like them, but sadly one of the clips finally gave up today and broke. Anybody got any suggestions on what to do? the headphones still work, just part of the band is broken. :slight_frown:

Parts are here. This is also who services Beyers in the US, so you can call or email them as well if you have any questions or if you want to send them in for repair.

Anyone else here dealt with Beyerdynamic service, was mistakenly sending my correspondence to the wrong help desk.
Was sure it was the Global who dealt with Canada but redirected to the US.
Seeing this is my 1st round with Beyerdynamic, after decades with AKG and Sennheiser obviously I'm a little disappointed with the creaking frame and bass distortion.:triportsad:
Still the sound is pretty good so thought it worthwhile to pursue getting the pair looked at and give Beyerdynamic the benefit of the doubt.

I've got a pair coming in the next day or two. Got a 1990 last week coming from 990 which I used mostly with my keyboard. I'm super sensitive to headphone clamp and weight. 990s were tight but manageable, 1990s have been consistently giving me headaches and needed a plush pad underneath the headband to get them to sit without hurting my head. Overall it's been a challenge to get them comfy enough but they're ALMOST there. Tiny bit less clamp and they're solid

Love the sound of the 1990s, mega detailed, good stage, great imaging, rumbles and thuds enough for my tastes. BUT, sometimes I'm not in the mood for all that energy so I'm hoping the Amiron are a nice change of pace.

The Amiron Home is a nice compliment to the DT 1990, its more laid-back and mellow sounding and the relaxed clamp will also be a nice.

Well there's nothing relaxed about this clamp lol. I'm going to stretch these out before I wear them for long. Also disappointed that my XLR doesn't fit into the earcups. I see another user bought some type of extender so I'll have that coming in tomorrow.

30 second listening impressions? Lol at first I was like... Huh? And then I was like... Oh, this is smooth. Yea tomorrow I'll be giving these a go when I get the adapters. I really wanna get the Halo topology going with my Midgard

Omg, these are incredible. I ran a couple of songs from my usual and just wasn't sure I was feeling it. So I went into my audiophile playlist which has tons of stuff I don't normally listen to. Came across Michael Jackson's Thriller and finally I had a smile on my face. Put on Billie Jean and I literally have tears in my eyes. Wow, someone mentioned how these bring out emotion in songs and I have NEVER experienced this to that degree.

A new song came on, never heard this one before. The same kind of words by Eugene Ruffolo. And now I'm absolutely weeping. My God this is magical. I actually need to take a break I was absolutely overwhelmed with emotion there for a second

Also, gave them a good stretch and they feel incredible. I'm not a fan of the headbands on the Amiron and 1990 however, my bald head feels pressure and hurts from them. Got a cushion and pad though that helps

Alright, came back for round 2. Made it about 4 songs in this time lol

Marvin Gaye - Let's get it on, Sexual Healing, Got to give it up: Really starting to notice how great the imaging is on these. In Let's get it on you hear Marvin almost whispering in your right ear throughout the song while lots is happening to the left with his main vocals in the center. I thought my right ear up was bunk for a second but it's just how it's placed. Tons of instruments bopping around in Sexual Healing, and Got to give it up was a jam. You can really feel how "groovy" Marvin's music is. I've heard these songs hundreds of times but never felt so intricately how the music affects you

Halsey's Without Me: Yup, here we go again. I've always enjoyed melancholic music but it has NEVER hit me this hard. I started to cry again. I really noticed with this one how the music surrounds you, it's not just center left/right but it blends together to form emotion through sound. There was one part right before the chorus kicked in where I heard one of her vocals delay in the background and it just set me off.

My musical journey has always been DETAIL DETAIL DETAIL but this taps into something else. Whenever I sat down to write a piano piece I knew I had something going by the emotion I felt as it came together. It's always been this diffuse thing but hearing these headphones it has somehow made me realize that I was missing a connection to music on a deeper level.

I feel like I'm in the middle of a psychadelic revelation (and I'm sober). I've just confirmed my decision to pick up a Lyr+ and I've been searching for a Bifrost 2/64 the last week. I'm super happy with this set up but after hearing what I did today I'm going to squeeze out that last bit of goodness I want and just enjoy the music.

I like how you can detach yourself emotionally when describing a headphone

Headphones like the Amiron Home is a big reason Beyerdynamic is one of my favorite headphone manufacturers. The right Beyer elicits an emotional connection to the music for me in a way that I’ve rarely experienced in other headphones. I have cried and gotten shivers down my spine quite frequently with both my T1.3 and my DT 480. The Amiron Home and T1.2 did it too when I had them.

I actually exited the hobby 2 years ago and sold everything just to come back because of the Beyers. I've heard some pretty good headphones, the 1990s certainly wow me but it's completely different to how the Amiron invoke emotion. I've now enjoyed 3 of their headphones and needless to say I will be owning more in the future.
