Hey, I would like to hear your recommendations for the best sounding headphones for around $350. I'm NOT looking for a flat-reference sound, so I don't think I'd like something like the Sennheiser hd 600's.

I'm looking for a wide soundstage and present and punchy low end.

What I'm currently looking at are the Sony Mdr-1Am2 and the V-Moda Crossfade 2 wireless, but I'd like to hear your recommendations.

These will be used at home, so open-back is not an issue, but I feel they will not provide the same low end punch as closed back cans.

I'm not able to demo any headphones, so I'm relying on your opinions and reviews.

:)

Wide sound stage, punchy sound, and around $350... maybe the Philips Fidelio X2. There are others in that price range with punchy sound and a big sound stage, like the Beyerdynamic DT 990 and better yet HiFiMan HE-400, but both of them have recessed mids at the same time so I can't recommend them.
