Add vivo xshot into your list
Vivo XShot was released 2014. Isn't it old by Smartphone standards? I don't think Vivo will continue to release new updates for XShot. Let's stick to 2015-present models, shall we?
Btw, i found another smartphone with decent audio. Alcatel Flash Plus 2 with AKM4375 DAC and NXP9890 Amp for just $149...

If you say so then ok. I just cant think any 5.1 inch in 2015 which has decent sound quality.
Also I have tried Alcatel flash, just so-so audio quality. Low amp power
Edited sorry double post by mistake

Great, man. I'm interested in a Z3 Compact, is it safe to say that it has the same set from the full size Z3? Does it sound good? I'm no audiophile but sure appreciate good sound...

why is it annoying you? also, do you have the Qualcom or the exynos version?
I've got the exynos version. It sounds like a muffled mess to be honest. No matter what I found I can't get good sound out of it. It's too shrill and the treble if way too high no matter what I do. Looking to sell it and get a v10. Good call?

Does anyone here have any insight into what DAC/Amp chips are used in the Xiaomi Mi 5? GSMArena rated it highly in their review, but GSMArena's tests are very basic and I wouldn't want to rely on that alone.

thanks for sharing your experience. I was hoping a fone with a good dac can enable me to buy a portable amp only. Or i will stick to my iphone and ha2 combo maybe another amp dac as a step up.I've got the exynos version. It sounds like a muffled mess to be honest. I doubt it will have the same audio chip. Usually, "compact" and "mini" models have downgraded specs of the regular models. I may be wrong though. Try one if you get the chance.

The z3 compact and the z5 compact don't compromise on specs. Exact same specs as their bigger brothers, just smaller dimensions.
